Le Dr Oliver Johnson, un universitaire sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans Sant\u00e9 mondiale<\/a> \u00c0 King's College London, le risque que les supporters contractent Ebola pendant la Coupe du monde est faible, mais des proc\u00e9dures de d\u00e9pistage plus strictes et des restrictions de voyage pourraient compliquer la logistique.<\/p>\n

Le tournoi \u00e9largi, qui r\u00e9unira 48 \u00e9quipes et sera organis\u00e9 par les \u00c9tats-Unis, le Canada et le Mexique, se d\u00e9roulera du 11 juin au 19 juillet.<\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie d\u2019Ebola dans l\u2019est de la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo a enregistr\u00e9 environ 600 cas suspects et plus de 130 d\u00e9c\u00e8s, ce qui a incit\u00e9 l\u2019Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9clarer une urgence de sant\u00e9 publique de port\u00e9e internationale.<\/p>\n

Cette situation a d\u00e9j\u00e0 perturb\u00e9 les pr\u00e9paratifs de la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo pour la Coupe du monde, l'\u00e9quipe ayant annul\u00e9 les \u00e9v\u00e9nements de pr\u00e9-tournoi pr\u00e9vus \u00e0 Kinshasa et d\u00e9plac\u00e9 ses plans en Belgique.<\/p>\n

Les autorit\u00e9s am\u00e9ricaines ont \u00e9galement interdit l'entr\u00e9e aux personnes ne poss\u00e9dant pas de passeport am\u00e9ricain et ayant s\u00e9journ\u00e9 en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo, en Ouganda ou au Soudan du Sud au cours des 21 derniers jours, obligeant ainsi le personnel bas\u00e9 au Congo \u00e0 quitter le pays pr\u00e9matur\u00e9ment.<\/p>\n

L'\u00e9quipe devrait arriver aux \u00c9tats-Unis le 10 ou le 11 juin et sera bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Houston.<\/p>\n

Johnson a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 \u00e0 Reuters\u00a0: \u201d\u00a0Si vous assistez r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e0 la Coupe du monde, quel que soit votre pays d\u2019origine, je pense que votre risque de contracter Ebola est tr\u00e8s faible. Les autorit\u00e9s am\u00e9ricaines ont mis en place des proc\u00e9dures de contr\u00f4le renforc\u00e9es pour les voyageurs arrivant \u00e0 l'a\u00e9roport de Washington Dulles et ayant r\u00e9cemment s\u00e9journ\u00e9 dans des pays touch\u00e9s, tandis que les agences de sant\u00e9 collaborent avec la FIFA et les autorit\u00e9s locales pour g\u00e9rer les risques potentiels.<\/p>\n

Johnson a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u201c Cela aura des r\u00e9percussions sur des aspects tels que les files d'attente dans les a\u00e9roports et les proc\u00e9dures de contr\u00f4le, ce qui ralentira les choses, et cela ajoutera une pression suppl\u00e9mentaire et co\u00fbtera de l'argent aux \u00c9tats-Unis pour tenter de l'organiser. \u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson a ajout\u00e9 que les supporters se rendant au tournoi devraient suivre les pr\u00e9cautions \u00e9l\u00e9mentaires, comme se laver soigneusement les mains et \u00e9viter les contacts rapproch\u00e9s en cas de sympt\u00f4mes.
