Dans une d\u00e9marche t\u00e9moignant d'un changement strat\u00e9gique dans l'avenir \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique du continent africain, le pr\u00e9sident rwandais Paul Kagame a annonc\u00e9 que son pays s'orientait vers le d\u00e9veloppement des technologies de l'\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire d\u00e8s le d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2030, dans le cadre d'une vision ambitieuse visant \u00e0 renforcer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique et \u00e0 soutenir la voie d'un d\u00e9veloppement global au Rwanda.<\/p>\n

Kagame pr\u00e9sente le plan du Rwanda pour le d\u00e9veloppement de l'\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire.<\/h2>\n

Cette annonce a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite lors d'une conf\u00e9rence internationale sur l'\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire \u00e0 Kigali, la capitale, o\u00f9 l'int\u00e9r\u00eat africain pour la recherche de sources d'\u00e9nergie plus stables, capables de suivre le rythme d'une croissance \u00e9conomique et technologique rapide, s'est accru.<\/p>\n

La conf\u00e9rence a r\u00e9uni plusieurs dirigeants africains de haut niveau, dont Samia Suluhu Hassan et Faure Esozimna Gnassingb\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Dans son discours prononc\u00e9 lors du sommet de deux jours qui a r\u00e9uni des dirigeants africains, des d\u00e9cideurs politiques et des acteurs mondiaux de l'\u00e9nergie, Kagame a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que l'objectif \u00e0 long terme du Rwanda est d'int\u00e9grer l'\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire \u00e0 sa strat\u00e9gie nationale de d\u00e9veloppement dans le cadre d'efforts plus larges visant \u00e0 stimuler l'approvisionnement en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9, les syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 et les technologies \u00e9mergentes telles que l'intelligence artificielle.<\/p>\n

Il a poursuivi : \u201c Au d\u00e9but de la troisi\u00e8me d\u00e9cennie du XXIe si\u00e8cle, nous aurons commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler au d\u00e9veloppement de l\u2019\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire \u201d, d\u00e9crivant cette ambition comme faisant partie de la qu\u00eate du Rwanda pour obtenir des sources d\u2019\u00e9nergie fiables et diversifi\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

Kagame a soulign\u00e9 que l\u2019\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire peut jouer un r\u00f4le transformateur dans le d\u00e9veloppement de l\u2019Afrique, notamment en \u00e9largissant l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 une \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 stable, en am\u00e9liorant les syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 et en soutenant les ambitions technologiques croissantes du continent.<\/p>\n

L'\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire au Rwanda<\/h4>\n

Il a expliqu\u00e9 que les progr\u00e8s dans ce secteur d\u00e9pendront d'une coop\u00e9ration renforc\u00e9e entre les pays africains, les investisseurs du secteur priv\u00e9 et les institutions scientifiques, ajoutant : \u201c Pour atteindre ces objectifs, il est essentiel de disposer d'investissements priv\u00e9s, d'une coop\u00e9ration institutionnelle et d'une approche durable \u00e0 long terme qui garantisse l'efficacit\u00e9 et la responsabilit\u00e9. \u201d.<\/p>\n

Il a averti que les pays qui ne s'engagent pas dans les nouveaux cadres de coop\u00e9ration \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique risquent de prendre du retard sur le plan \u00e9conomique et de passer \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 des avantages du progr\u00e8s technologique partag\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Il a \u00e9galement \u00e9voqu\u00e9 le d\u00e9veloppement de petits r\u00e9acteurs nucl\u00e9aires modulaires comme une voie possible pour les pays africains, affirmant que de telles technologies pourraient rendre l'\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire plus accessible et adaptable aux r\u00e9seaux \u00e9lectriques nationaux \u00e0 l'avenir.<\/p>\n

Kagame a r\u00e9affirm\u00e9 l\u2019engagement du Rwanda \u00e0 travailler avec ses partenaires r\u00e9gionaux et internationaux pour promouvoir les applications pacifiques de l\u2019\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire, soulignant que l\u2019objectif est de soutenir le d\u00e9veloppement et non les capacit\u00e9s militaires.<\/p>\n

Selon les analystes, les discussions de Kigali mettent en lumi\u00e8re une \u00e9volution plus large \u00e0 travers l'Afrique, les gouvernements cherchant \u00e0 \u00e9largir l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, \u00e0 r\u00e9duire la d\u00e9pendance aux combustibles fossiles et \u00e0 se pr\u00e9parer \u00e0 une croissance d\u00e9mographique rapide.<\/p>\n
