Dans l'une des r\u00e9gions viticoles les plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres de Afrique du Sud<\/a>Les effets du changement climatique se font progressivement sentir dans les vignobles, sur fond de craintes croissantes que la hausse des temp\u00e9ratures ne modifie la nature de l'industrie vinicole du pays dans les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir.<\/p>\n

La r\u00e9gion d'Hemel-en-Arde, situ\u00e9e pr\u00e8s d'Hermanus dans la province du Cap-Occidental, est connue pour avoir l'un des climats les plus froids de la r\u00e9gion, ce qui en fait un environnement id\u00e9al pour la production de vins fins, notamment le Pinot Noir et le Chardonnay, qui ont besoin de temp\u00e9ratures mod\u00e9r\u00e9es pour conserver leur saveur et leur qualit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Les domaines viticoles de Creation Wines jouissent d'une r\u00e9putation mondiale prestigieuse, figurant souvent parmi les dix meilleures exp\u00e9riences viticoles au monde, selon le classement des 50 meilleurs vignobles mondiaux, \u00e9tabli sur la base des \u00e9valuations d'experts en vin et de sp\u00e9cialistes du tourisme.<\/p>\n

Le changement climatique menace l'industrie vinicole en Afrique du Sud<\/h1>\n

Zach Sandy, un visiteur de la ferme, d\u00e9crit le Pinot Noir comme un vin \u00e0 mi-chemin entre le rouge et le blanc, soulignant sa douceur, sa facilit\u00e9 \u00e0 boire et sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 bien s'accorder avec des plats l\u00e9gers tels que le sashimi de thon ou les steaks de thon grill\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Martin affirme que la r\u00e9gion est encore relativement chanceuse gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa proximit\u00e9 avec l'oc\u00e9an, qui agit comme un facteur d'\u00e9quilibre et att\u00e9nue le changement climatique, ajoutant que la stabilit\u00e9 de la temp\u00e9rature de l'oc\u00e9an a jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 pr\u00e9venir des changements drastiques.<\/p>\n

Cependant, des donn\u00e9es r\u00e9centes de l'Universit\u00e9 de Stellenbosch font appara\u00eetre des indicateurs inqui\u00e9tants, la chercheuse Erna Blanqu\u00e9rt ayant confirm\u00e9 que la derni\u00e8re saison des vendanges avait \u00e9t\u00e9 la plus pr\u00e9coce de l'histoire du Cap-Occidental.<\/p>\n

Elle a expliqu\u00e9 que les vendanges, qui commen\u00e7aient traditionnellement de mi-janvier \u00e0 mars, pourraient \u00eatre d\u00e9cal\u00e9es \u00e0 novembre d'ici 2035, en raison des changements dans les stades biologiques de la croissance de la vigne dus \u00e0 la hausse des temp\u00e9ratures.<\/p>\n

Les vendanges pr\u00e9coces ont des cons\u00e9quences importantes pour le secteur, notamment des modifications des horaires de travail agricole, ainsi que leur impact sur les ar\u00f4mes et les caract\u00e9ristiques du vin.<\/p>\n

Face \u00e0 ces d\u00e9fis, les producteurs de vin ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 adopter de nouvelles technologies bas\u00e9es sur l'agriculture de pr\u00e9cision, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la surveillance m\u00e9t\u00e9orologique, l'analyse des sols et la s\u00e9lection des meilleures m\u00e9thodes de taille et de plantation.<\/p>\n

Gerhard Breuer, expert en viticulture chez Creation, explique que l'exploitation a d\u00e9j\u00e0 commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 utiliser les donn\u00e9es m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques pour planifier ses r\u00e9coltes \u00e0 l'avance, et note que cette ann\u00e9e, les vendanges ont eu lieu environ une semaine \u00e0 dix jours plus t\u00f4t que l'an dernier.<\/p>\n

Il a ajout\u00e9 que l'exploitation avait eu recours \u00e0 la plantation de cultures de couverture pour maintenir l'humidit\u00e9 du sol, en plus d'adopter le syst\u00e8me moderne Guio pour la taille des vignes, qui permet une meilleure adaptation aux fluctuations climatiques.<\/p>\n
