Rosalie Gicanda \u00e9tait la derni\u00e8re reine Rwanda<\/strong> <\/a>L\u2019\u00e9pouse du roi Mutara III, Rudahegwa, est n\u00e9e en 1918 et est devenue l\u2019une des figures f\u00e9minines les plus importantes de l\u2019histoire du pays.<\/p>\n

Qui est Rosalie Gicanda ?<\/h2>\n

Rosalie Gikanda \u00e9pousa le roi Mutara III Rudahigwa en 1942 et, tout au long de sa vie de reine, elle fut connue pour sa bont\u00e9, son extr\u00eame humilit\u00e9 et son engagement au service du public.<\/p>\n

Nombreux \u00e9taient les Rwandais qui l'aimaient, et elle n'a jamais cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 se mettre en avant. Au contraire, elle se distinguait par son raffinement et sa simplicit\u00e9, et elle inspirait le respect non par le pouvoir, mais par la compassion et la dignit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

En 1959, le Rwanda connut une transformation politique radicale lors de ce qui devint la r\u00e9volution rwandaise, qui abolit la monarchie. Le roi Mutara III Rudahigwa mourut la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, laissant Rosalie Gikanda sans \u00e9poux ni tr\u00f4ne.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s la chute du royaume, elle choisit une vie paisible \u00e0 Putari, aujourd'hui Hu\u00e9. Elle y mena une vie modeste, comme toute citoyenne, loin des privil\u00e8ges de la famille royale.<\/p>\n

Malgr\u00e9 la perte de son statut royal, elle est rest\u00e9e un symbole de force morale et a continu\u00e9 d'\u00eatre profond\u00e9ment respect\u00e9e par ceux qui se souvenaient des valeurs d'unit\u00e9 et de service de la monarchie.<\/p>\n

La reine Rosalie Gikanda a \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9e lors du g\u00e9nocide des Tutsis de 1994. Le 20 avril 1994, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 assassin\u00e9e par des soldats et des miliciens Interahamwe \u00e0 Butare, en raison de son histoire et du respect dont elle jouissait.<\/p>\n

Aujourd'hui, Rosalie Gikanda reste dans les m\u00e9moires comme une femme d'une grande douceur, d'une profonde humilit\u00e9 et d'un patriotisme exemplaire.
