Voter<\/a> Aujourd'hui, vendredi, lors d'une \u00e9lection pr\u00e9sidentielle cruciale, tous les pronostics indiquent la victoire du pr\u00e9sident sortant, Ismail Omar Guelleh, \u00e2g\u00e9 de 78 ans, pour un sixi\u00e8me mandat.<\/p>\n

Djibouti, ce petit pays par sa taille mais strat\u00e9giquement crucial dans la Corne de l'Afrique, a connu une journ\u00e9e \u00e9lectorale calme, marqu\u00e9e par une faible participation dans la capitale et ses environs, dans un contexte de comp\u00e9tition in\u00e9gale entre le pr\u00e9sident sortant et un unique rival qui ne jouit pas d'une grande notori\u00e9t\u00e9 dans les cercles politiques.<\/p>\n

Participation limit\u00e9e et interrogations sur la faisabilit\u00e9 du changement<\/span><\/h3>\n

Selon les rapports, les observateurs et les journalistes ont not\u00e9 une baisse significative du taux de participation des \u00e9lecteurs au cours des premi\u00e8res heures de vote, le pourcentage dans certains centres ne d\u00e9passant pas 25% sur un total de 256 000 \u00e9lecteurs inscrits.<\/p>\n

Selon les informations disponibles, la course pr\u00e9sidentielle oppose le pr\u00e9sident Guelleh, dont les affiches ont recouvert les rues de la capitale, \u00e0 Mohamed Farah Samatar, chef du Centre d\u00e9mocratique uni (CDU), un parti qui ne dispose d'aucune repr\u00e9sentation parlementaire.<\/p>\n

Alors que les rassemblements de Gille attiraient des milliers de personnes, Smatar peinait \u00e0 mobiliser les \u00e9lecteurs, se contentant de petits \u00e9v\u00e9nements de campagne r\u00e9unissant seulement quelques dizaines de personnes. Ce d\u00e9calage a m\u00eame conduit certains \u00e9lecteurs \u00e0 d\u00e9clarer ne pas conna\u00eetre son adversaire, renfor\u00e7ant ainsi les chances de Gille, qui remporta l'\u00e9lection de 2021 avec une avance de plus de 971\u00a0000 voix.<\/p>\n

Djibouti tire son importance de sa situation g\u00e9ographique unique sur le d\u00e9troit de Bab el-Mandeb, voie navigable vitale reliant la mer Rouge au golfe d'Aden.<\/p>\n

Durant ses ann\u00e9es au pouvoir, sa g\u00e9n\u00e9ration a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 transformer ce pays de 23 000 kilom\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s en une plaque tournante militaire mondiale, accueillant des bases pour des superpuissances telles que les \u00c9tats-Unis, la Chine, la France, le Japon et l'Italie.<\/p>\n

Malgr\u00e9 l\u2019essor du secteur portuaire et militaire, Djibouti est confront\u00e9 \u00e0 des crises \u00e9conomiques structurelles ; environ 701 000 jeunes souffrent du ch\u00f4mage.<\/p>\n

Le d\u00e9veloppement des infrastructures a \u00e9galement suscit\u00e9 des inqui\u00e9tudes quant \u00e0 l'augmentation de la dette ext\u00e9rieure, notamment celle due \u00e0 la Chine.
