La pr\u00e9sidente de la Namibie a r\u00e9affirm\u00e9 l\u2019engagement du gouvernement \u00e0 soutenir le secteur de la p\u00eache maritime, l\u2019un des principaux piliers de l\u2019\u00e9conomie nationale, lors d\u2019une r\u00e9union qu\u2019elle a tenue avec des repr\u00e9sentants de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des associations de p\u00eache namibiennes pour discuter de la durabilit\u00e9 du secteur, des d\u00e9fis auxquels il est confront\u00e9 et de sa contribution au d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomique.<\/p>\n

Lors de la r\u00e9union, la pr\u00e9sidente Nandi-Ndaitwah a soulign\u00e9 l'importance strat\u00e9gique du secteur de la p\u00eache pour la cr\u00e9ation d'emplois, le renforcement de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire et l'augmentation des recettes en devises \u00e9trang\u00e8res, insistant sur le fait que le gouvernement consid\u00e8re l'industrie de la p\u00eache comme un secteur vital qui contribue \u00e0 soutenir la croissance \u00e9conomique et \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer le niveau de vie des citoyens.<\/p>\n

Le pr\u00e9sident a appel\u00e9 \u00e0 intensifier les efforts pour \u00e9tendre l'Initiative nationale de consommation de poisson, lanc\u00e9e par le pr\u00e9sident fondateur du pays, Sam Nujoma, dans le but de garantir que tous les citoyens b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient davantage des abondantes ressources marines de la Namibie et de renforcer le r\u00f4le du poisson dans la r\u00e9alisation de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire nationale.<\/p>\n

Pour sa part, le pr\u00e9sident de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration namibienne des associations de p\u00eache, Mati Amokwua, a pass\u00e9 en revue la contribution du secteur \u00e0 l'\u00e9conomie nationale, soulignant qu'il s'agit d'une des principales sources d'emplois et de revenus, et d'un contributeur majeur aux recettes publiques. Il a \u00e9galement mis en lumi\u00e8re le r\u00f4le essentiel que joue l'industrie de la p\u00eache pour la subsistance de milliers de familles namibiennes.<\/p>\n

Le pr\u00e9sident de la Namibie arrive \u00e0 Accra pour participer \u00e0 une conf\u00e9rence internationale visant \u00e0 mettre en \u0153uvre la r\u00e9solution de l'ONU sur l'esclavage.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

La r\u00e9union a \u00e9galement permis de soulever un certain nombre de d\u00e9fis auxquels le secteur est confront\u00e9, la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration exprimant ses pr\u00e9occupations quant \u00e0 ce qu'elle a d\u00e9crit comme des incoh\u00e9rences dans certaines politiques nouvellement introduites et un \u00e9tat d'incertitude r\u00e9glementaire, avertissant que le maintien de ces conditions pourrait nuire \u00e0 la confiance des investisseurs et menacer la viabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 long terme de l'industrie de la p\u00eache.<\/p>\n

Les repr\u00e9sentants du secteur ont \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une s\u00e9rie de propositions visant \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer les conditions de travail et \u00e0 \u00e9laborer des politiques de r\u00e9glementation de la p\u00eache, notamment compte tenu du d\u00e9clin des stocks de poissons dans certaines zones et de la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de prendre des mesures pour assurer la pr\u00e9servation des ressources marines pour les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations futures.<\/p>\n
