Le peuple zoulou est le plus important groupe ethnique d'Afrique du Sud, comptant environ 221\u00a0000 personnes. Surnomm\u00e9 la \u201c\u00a0Nation guerri\u00e8re\u00a0\u201d en raison de sa longue histoire de lutte contre le colonialisme au XIXe si\u00e8cle, sous la direction du roi Shaka Zulu, il r\u00e9side principalement dans la province du KwaZulu-Natal, parle le zoulou et poss\u00e8de un patrimoine culturel unique.<\/p>\n

La tribu zouloue, la nation guerri\u00e8re d'Afrique<\/h2>\n

Les Zoulous constituent le plus grand peuple du continent africain et le plus important groupe ethnique d'Afrique du Sud. Leurs rituels vestimentaires, culinaires et culturels leur sont propres et diff\u00e8rent de ceux des autres cultures. Surnomm\u00e9s la \u00ab\u00a0Nation guerri\u00e8re\u00a0\u00bb, ils ont r\u00e9sist\u00e9 au colonialisme et particip\u00e9 activement \u00e0 la vie politique, allant jusqu'\u00e0 s'opposer \u00e0 Nelson Mandela.<\/p>\n

Le peuple zoulou s'est unifi\u00e9 dans les ann\u00e9es 1720 sous l'\u00e9gide du chef Shaka, son p\u00e8re spirituel et unificateur. Forts d'une longue histoire de r\u00e9sistance au colonialisme, les Zoulous poss\u00e8dent des coutumes, des traditions et un patrimoine uniques qui perdurent encore aujourd'hui. Fiers de leur mode de vie, de leurs coutumes, de leurs traditions et de leurs danses, ils les distinguent de ceux de toute autre ethnie. Cette fiert\u00e9 les a conduits \u00e0 pr\u00e9server ce mode de vie, notamment \u00e0 travers leur alimentation, leurs v\u00eatements, leurs rites de mariage et leurs diverses c\u00e9l\u00e9brations. Le peuple zoulou parle sa propre langue, le zoulou, qui est la langue officielle la plus parl\u00e9e d'Afrique du Sud.<\/p>\n

Les conflits entre tribus se r\u00e8glent publiquement par des duels au b\u00e2ton. Le duel prend fin d\u00e8s que le sang coule, et le vainqueur soigne alors les blessures du vaincu. En cas de d\u00e9c\u00e8s, aucune poursuite n'est engag\u00e9e si les r\u00e8gles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 respect\u00e9es. En 1879, les guerriers zoulous remport\u00e8rent leur plus grande victoire lors de la guerre contre 1\u00a0500 soldats britanniques.<\/p>\n

Selon le magazine Africa Our Continent, il est obligatoire, lors d'une demande en mariage, que le pr\u00e9tendant soit s\u00e9v\u00e8rement battu par le p\u00e8re de la mari\u00e9e et doive endurer la douleur ; \u00e0 d\u00e9faut, il est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un mari indigne de sa fille ou de toute autre fille de la tribu, ce qui le condamne au c\u00e9libat \u00e0 vie, et l'homme doit verser une dot d'au moins 11 vaches pour \u00e9pouser la fille de son choix.<\/p>\n

Le ma\u00efs est un aliment de base pour les Zoulous.<\/h4>\n

La tribu zouloue consid\u00e8re le ma\u00efs comme son aliment de base, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement servi avec du pain au levain, ou des assortiments de l\u00e9gumes ou de haricots, tandis que son r\u00e9gime alimentaire se compose principalement de c\u00e9r\u00e9ales et de l\u00e9gumes, la viande n'\u00e9tant g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement consomm\u00e9e que lors d'occasions sp\u00e9ciales.<\/p>\n
