Les autorit\u00e9s sanitaires k\u00e9nyanes ont lanc\u00e9 une campagne de d\u00e9pistage gratuit du cancer de la peau pour les personnes atteintes d'albinisme, parall\u00e8lement aux efforts de sensibilisation aux risques sanitaires auxquels ce groupe est confront\u00e9, notamment en raison des taux \u00e9lev\u00e9s d'exposition aux rayons ultraviolets dans le pays.<\/p>\n

Cette initiative repr\u00e9sente une \u00e9tape importante vers l'am\u00e9lioration des possibilit\u00e9s de d\u00e9pistage pr\u00e9coce de la maladie et la fourniture des soins de sant\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaires aux personnes touch\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

Les personnes atteintes d'albinisme font partie des groupes les plus susceptibles de d\u00e9velopper un cancer de la peau, car leur peau manque de m\u00e9lanine, un pigment qui assure une protection naturelle contre la lumi\u00e8re du soleil.<\/p>\n

Des \u00e9tudes m\u00e9dicales indiquent que l'absence de ce pigment augmente consid\u00e9rablement le risque de l\u00e9sions cutan\u00e9es et de tumeurs canc\u00e9reuses, notamment dans les r\u00e9gions proches de l'\u00e9quateur comme le Kenya.<\/p>\n

Le d\u00e9pistage pr\u00e9coce est un moyen efficace de r\u00e9duire les complications.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Cette campagne de sant\u00e9 vise \u00e0 encourager les personnes atteintes d'albinisme \u00e0 se soumettre \u00e0 des examens r\u00e9guliers afin de d\u00e9tecter tout changement cutan\u00e9 pouvant indiquer un cancer de la peau \u00e0 un stade pr\u00e9coce.<\/p>\n

Les experts confirment que le diagnostic pr\u00e9coce contribue grandement \u00e0 augmenter les chances de succ\u00e8s du traitement et \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les complications graves associ\u00e9es \u00e0 la maladie.<\/p>\n

L'initiative comprend \u00e9galement des actions de sensibilisation sur l'importance de l'utilisation de cr\u00e8mes solaires et de v\u00eatements protecteurs, ainsi que sur la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d'\u00e9viter une exposition directe et prolong\u00e9e au soleil, mesures essentielles pour prot\u00e9ger les personnes atteintes d'albinisme des risques sanitaires li\u00e9s au climat d'Afrique de l'Est.<\/p>\n

D\u00e9fis sanitaires et sociaux persistants<\/span><\/h4>\n

Outre les probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9, de nombreuses personnes atteintes d'albinisme au Kenya sont confront\u00e9es \u00e0 diverses formes de discrimination sociale et de stigmatisation li\u00e9es \u00e0 des id\u00e9es fausses et \u00e0 des pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s concernant leur maladie g\u00e9n\u00e9tique.<\/p>\n

Les organisations de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile et les agences gouvernementales s'efforcent de sensibiliser la communaut\u00e9 aux droits de ce groupe et de garantir son acc\u00e8s \u00e9gal aux services de sant\u00e9, d'\u00e9ducation et sociaux.<\/p>\n

Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, on a constat\u00e9 un d\u00e9veloppement des programmes destin\u00e9s \u00e0 soutenir les personnes atteintes d'albinisme, notamment par la fourniture de cr\u00e8mes solaires, de lunettes et de services de sant\u00e9 sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s, dans le cadre d'efforts plus larges visant \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les taux de cancer de la peau et \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 de vie de ce groupe.<\/p>\n
