L'agence a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 dans un communiqu\u00e9 r\u00e9cent que les mod\u00e8les climatiques mondiaux indiquent une probabilit\u00e9 de d\u00e9veloppement du ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne El Ni\u00f1o comprise entre 80% et 82% au cours de la p\u00e9riode allant de juin \u00e0 ao\u00fbt 2026, tandis que les chances qu'il se poursuive jusqu'\u00e0 la fin de l'ann\u00e9e augmentent entre 90% et 96%.<\/p>\n

Durant la saison de juin, juillet et ao\u00fbt, de vastes zones du Kenya devraient conna\u00eetre des pr\u00e9cipitations inf\u00e9rieures ou proches de la moyenne, notamment dans les hauts plateaux \u00e0 l'ouest de la vall\u00e9e du Rift, le bassin du lac Victoria, la vall\u00e9e du Rift elle-m\u00eame et le nord-ouest du pays.<\/p>\n

En revanche, un temps sec et ensoleill\u00e9 est pr\u00e9vu sur la majeure partie du sud-est et du nord-est, avec des temp\u00e9ratures sup\u00e9rieures aux normales saisonni\u00e8res. Les zones c\u00f4ti\u00e8res pourraient conna\u00eetre des pr\u00e9cipitations proches ou l\u00e9g\u00e8rement sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 la moyenne, tandis que Nairobi et les hauts plateaux environnants devraient \u00eatre frais et parfois nuageux avec un risque d'averses.<\/p>\n

Malgr\u00e9 les pr\u00e9visions de s\u00e9cheresse en milieu d'ann\u00e9e, l'agence a mis en garde contre un changement significatif des conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques pendant la saison d'octobre, novembre et d\u00e9cembre, car le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne El Ni\u00f1o est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement associ\u00e9 \u00e0 une augmentation des taux de pr\u00e9cipitations au Kenya et en Afrique de l'Est.<\/p>\n
