Les donn\u00e9es gouvernementales publi\u00e9es mercredi ont montr\u00e9 que le nombre de cas confirm\u00e9s d'Ebola en R\u00e9publique Congo<\/a> Le nombre de cas \u00e0 Democracy s'\u00e9l\u00e8ve d\u00e9sormais \u00e0 635, dont 127 d\u00e9c\u00e8s.<\/span><\/div>\n

Le d\u00e9partement d'\u00c9tat am\u00e9ricain a annonc\u00e9 mercredi qu'il allait fournir 20 millions de dollars suppl\u00e9mentaires pour aider \u00e0 lutter contre l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie d'Ebola en Afrique, portant ainsi son aide directe totale \u00e0 plus de 220 millions de dollars.<\/p>\n

Le minist\u00e8re a indiqu\u00e9 dans un communiqu\u00e9 que ces fonds soutiendraient les efforts de pr\u00e9paration au Burundi, au Kenya, au Rwanda et au Soudan du Sud, notamment les centres nationaux d'op\u00e9rations d'urgence, ainsi que la surveillance, le d\u00e9pistage, le contr\u00f4le aux fronti\u00e8res et la pr\u00e9vention et le contr\u00f4le des infections.<\/p>\n

Elle a ajout\u00e9 que cela aiderait \u00e9galement les pays \u00e0 distribuer les biens essentiels et \u00e0 prendre en charge les patients atteints d'Ebola.<\/p>\n

Deux filles sont d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9es et six autres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 diagnostiqu\u00e9es positives au virus.<\/h2>\n

La crise d'Ebola s'aggrave au Congo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9c\u00e8s de sa m\u00e8re fin mai, l'enfant, Boswaza, a \u00e9t\u00e9 emmen\u00e9e dans un orphelinat g\u00e9r\u00e9 par une \u00e9glise dans l'est du Congo, o\u00f9 des religieuses ont rapidement d\u00e9couvert qu'elle avait de la fi\u00e8vre.<\/p>\n

Quelques jours plus tard, elle d\u00e9c\u00e9da des suites de ce qui fut confirm\u00e9 par la suite comme \u00e9tant le virus Ebola. Selon le personnel soignant et les m\u00e9decins, apr\u00e8s son d\u00e9c\u00e8s, six autres enfants furent diagnostiqu\u00e9s comme cas suspects d'Ebola dans un orphelinat accueillant 69 enfants \u00e0 Bunia, ville de la province d'Ituri, \u00e9picentre de l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo.<\/p>\n

Elles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 conduites \u00e0 l'h\u00f4pital, o\u00f9 cinq d'entre elles ont ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9es n\u00e9gatives, et ont \u00e9t\u00e9 escort\u00e9es hors de la tente d'isolement du Centre m\u00e9dical \u00e9vang\u00e9lique (CME) mardi par des ambulanciers en combinaisons de protection compl\u00e8tes, sous les sourires des religieuses.<\/p>\n

S\u0153ur Clarice a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu'un autre des trois enfants \u2013 un tripl\u00e9 orphelin surnomm\u00e9 \u201d Cherry \u201d qui n'avait pas encore un an \u2013 est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 mercredi apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9 positif \u00e0 Ebola, selon le Dr Freddy Kibwana, directeur du Centre de recherche sur les maladies infectieuses, qui s'est entretenu avec Reuters.<\/p>\n

Les enfants sont faciles \u00e0 contaminer.<\/h2>\n

Les enfants et les nourrissons peuvent facilement devenir porteurs de la maladie par le biais de fluides corporels tels que les vomissements, les mati\u00e8res f\u00e9cales et la salive, qui sont tr\u00e8s infectieux lorsqu'ils sont infect\u00e9s par le virus Ebola.<\/p>\n

Selon des travailleurs humanitaires et des m\u00e9decins, trois des personnes qui s'occupaient des enfants d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9s, dont une religieuse, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9es positives au virus Ebola.<\/p>\n

Ce b\u00e9b\u00e9, d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 moins de deux semaines, est l'une des plus jeunes victimes de l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie qui a jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent infect\u00e9 pr\u00e8s de 600 personnes et fait au moins 115 morts \u00e0 travers le Congo.<\/p>\n

L'Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu'en plus des fluides tels que le sang et la salive, le virus Ebola a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9tect\u00e9 dans le liquide amniotique et le placenta ; il est donc probable que sa m\u00e8re lui ait transmis le virus dans l'ut\u00e9rus ou lors de l'accouchement.<\/p>\n

Si la m\u00e8re a contract\u00e9 le virus apr\u00e8s avoir accouch\u00e9, elle a pu \u00e9galement le transmettre \u00e0 son enfant par le lait maternel, dans lequel le virus a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9tect\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Trois laboratoires sont \u00e0 court de fournitures.<\/h2>\n

Dans un contexte similaire, l'Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que trois laboratoires en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo \u00e9taient \u00e0 court de fournitures n\u00e9cessaires pour effectuer des tests de d\u00e9pistage du virus Ebola, alors que l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie de la dangereuse souche Bundibugyo du virus continue de se propager.<\/p>\n

Dans son dernier rapport de situation, publi\u00e9 mardi soir 7 juin, l'agence a indiqu\u00e9 que les laboratoires de Bukavu et Luero, dans la province du Sud-Kivu, et de Goma, dans la province du Nord-Kivu, \u00e9taient \u00e0 court de stock.<\/p>\n
