Trois pays du continent africain se distinguent, tous portant le nom de \u201c Guin\u00e9e \u201d, ce qui pr\u00eate parfois \u00e0 confusion. Bien que partageant le m\u00eame nom, ces pays diff\u00e8rent par leur langue, leur culture et leur situation g\u00e9ographique. Cette similitude n'est pas une simple co\u00efncidence, mais bien le fruit d'un lourd h\u00e9ritage colonial qui a fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 leur identit\u00e9 et les a s\u00e9par\u00e9s par des fronti\u00e8res imaginaires et des langues europ\u00e9ennes distinctes.<\/p>\n

Pourquoi la Guin\u00e9e ?<\/span><\/h2>\n

D'apr\u00e8s les rapports internationaux qui ont trait\u00e9 de la question, ce nom provient du terme berb\u00e8re \u201c Aginaw \u201d, utilis\u00e9 par les habitants d'Afrique du Nord pour d\u00e9signer les r\u00e9gions situ\u00e9es au sud du d\u00e9sert du Sahara, et qui signifie litt\u00e9ralement \u201c terre des Noirs \u201d.<\/p>\n

Avec l'arriv\u00e9e des explorateurs europ\u00e9ens au XVe si\u00e8cle, la c\u00f4te ouest de l'Afrique fut baptis\u00e9e \u201c golfe de Guin\u00e9e \u201d, nom qui devint plus tard le nom officiel de trois pays totalement distincts.<\/p>\n

R\u00e9publique de Guin\u00e9e\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

La R\u00e9publique de Guin\u00e9e est le pays le plus vaste et le plus influent d'Afrique de l'Ouest. Historiquement connue sous le nom de Guin\u00e9e fran\u00e7aise, elle fut la premi\u00e8re colonie fran\u00e7aise d'Afrique subsaharienne \u00e0 acc\u00e9der \u00e0 l'ind\u00e9pendance en 1958, apr\u00e8s avoir dit \u201c non \u201d au pr\u00e9sident fran\u00e7ais de Gaulle.<\/p>\n

Aujourd'hui, on l'appelle parfois Guin\u00e9e-Conakry pour la distinguer de sa voisine, la Guin\u00e9e-Bissau. Le pays est divis\u00e9 en huit r\u00e9gions administratives, elles-m\u00eames subdivis\u00e9es en 33 provinces. La capitale est Conakry, qui est \u00e9galement la plus grande ville et le centre \u00e9conomique du pays.<\/p>\n

La Guin\u00e9e abrite 13 millions de personnes appartenant \u00e0 24 groupes ethniques, dont les plus importants et les plus visibles sont les Peuls (431 000 000), les Mandingues (351 000 000) et les Susu (201 000 000 000).<\/p>\n

Ce pays poss\u00e8de un tiers des r\u00e9serves mondiales de bauxite (minerai d'aluminium) et est surnomm\u00e9 \u201c le r\u00e9servoir d'eau de l'Afrique \u201d car les plus longs fleuves du continent prennent leur source dans ses montagnes.<\/p>\n

Guin\u00e9e-Bissau<\/span><\/h2>\n

Au nord-ouest de son grand voisin se trouve la Guin\u00e9e-Bissau, un petit pays qui a lutt\u00e9 avec acharnement pour obtenir son ind\u00e9pendance du Portugal. Afin de la distinguer de sa voisine, la Guin\u00e9e-Conakry, les autorit\u00e9s ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d'ajouter le nom de sa capitale, Bissau, \u00e0 son nom officiel.<\/p>\n

La Guin\u00e9e-Bissau est le seul pays d'Afrique de l'Ouest dont la langue officielle est le portugais, ce qui en fait une \u00eele linguistique au milieu d'un oc\u00e9an de pays francophones et anglophones.<\/p>\n

Sur le plan \u00e9conomique, elle d\u00e9pend presque enti\u00e8rement de l'exportation de noix de cajou, et elle se distingue par l'archipel des \u00eeles P\u00e9gase, qui constitue une r\u00e9serve naturelle unique.<\/p>\n

Guin\u00e9e \u00e9quatoriale<\/span><\/h2>\n

Loin de l'Afrique de l'Ouest, et plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment au c\u0153ur du continent, se trouve la Guin\u00e9e \u00e9quatoriale. Ce pays est une exception \u00e0 tous \u00e9gards, car il est le seul pays africain o\u00f9 l'espagnol est la langue officielle, h\u00e9ritage d'une longue p\u00e9riode coloniale espagnole.<\/p>\n

Le pays est divis\u00e9 en une partie continentale et des \u00eeles dispers\u00e9es. Ironie du sort, sa capitale, Malabo, est situ\u00e9e sur une \u00eele et non sur le continent. Gr\u00e2ce aux importantes d\u00e9couvertes de p\u00e9trole dans les ann\u00e9es 1990, il est pass\u00e9 du statut de l'un des pays les plus pauvres de la r\u00e9gion \u00e0 celui de l'un des pays affichant les revenus par habitant les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s, ce qui lui a conf\u00e9r\u00e9 un poids \u00e9conomique et politique disproportionn\u00e9 par rapport \u00e0 sa petite taille.
\nEn conclusion, bien que le nom \u201c Guin\u00e9e \u201d les unisse, les diff\u00e9rences sont consid\u00e9rables. Tandis que Conakry mise sur ses ressources mini\u00e8res et que Bissau lutte contre son identit\u00e9 portugaise, la Guin\u00e9e \u00e9quatoriale s'impose comme une puissance p\u00e9troli\u00e8re hispanophone.
