La Commission d'\u00e9thique et de lutte contre la corruption a perquisitionn\u00e9 le domicile d'un haut fonctionnaire de la province. Nairobi<\/strong><\/a>Il travaille au sein du d\u00e9partement d'urbanisme, dans le cadre d'une enqu\u00eate en cours sur des all\u00e9gations de corruption.<\/p>\n

Selon les informations disponibles, les enqu\u00eateurs de l'agence ont men\u00e9 l'op\u00e9ration le jeudi 4 juin 2026 au matin, au cours de laquelle ils ont d\u00e9couvert des preuves importantes, notamment d'importantes sommes d'argent liquide dont la valeur exacte n'a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 divulgu\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Selon les informations disponibles, les fonds r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9s sont estim\u00e9s \u00e0 plusieurs millions de shillings et sont actuellement en possession des enqu\u00eateurs anticorruption, tandis que les investigations se poursuivent.<\/p>\n

Au moment de la publication, le gouverneur de Nairobi, Johnson Sakaja, n'avait fait aucune d\u00e9claration concernant l'arrestation d'un haut responsable de son gouvernement.<\/p>\n

Les responsables du comt\u00e9 de Nairobi sont confront\u00e9s \u00e0 une longue histoire de scandales financiers s'\u00e9talant sur plus d'une d\u00e9cennie, plusieurs hauts fonctionnaires ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 arr\u00eat\u00e9s, jug\u00e9s et condamn\u00e9s pour avoir d\u00e9tourn\u00e9 des milliards de shillings de fonds publics.<\/p>\n

L'ancien gouverneur Evans Kidero et de hauts fonctionnaires ont \u00e9t\u00e9 arr\u00eat\u00e9s en ao\u00fbt 2018 pour leur implication dans une fraude de 213 millions de shillings kenyans, et des accusations suppl\u00e9mentaires ont \u00e9t\u00e9 port\u00e9es contre eux en avril 2019 concernant des paiements irr\u00e9guliers.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s un proc\u00e8s de cinq ans, le tribunal anticorruption a acquitt\u00e9 Kidero en novembre 2025, estimant que l'accusation n'avait pas prouv\u00e9 qu'il avait personnellement autoris\u00e9 ou b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 des fonds litigieux.<\/p>\n

Le directeur financier Jimmy Kiamba et la secr\u00e9taire du comt\u00e9 Lillian Ndijua ont \u00e9t\u00e9 condamn\u00e9s \u00e0 12 ans de prison en juillet 2022 apr\u00e8s que la Cour supr\u00eame a annul\u00e9 un acquittement ant\u00e9rieur dans un scandale d'approvisionnement de 18 millions de shillings kenyans.<\/p>\n

Le pr\u00e9sident de la commission des finances du Conseil ex\u00e9cutif, Charles Kirich, a \u00e9t\u00e9 suspendu en 2019 pour irr\u00e9gularit\u00e9s dans la planification, puis emprisonn\u00e9 pour outrage au tribunal en septembre 2023, ce qui t\u00e9moigne des pr\u00e9occupations persistantes concernant la gouvernance et la responsabilit\u00e9 au sein de l'administration municipale de Nairobi.<\/p>\n
