Le continent africain est confront\u00e9 \u00e0 un d\u00e9fi sanitaire croissant suite \u00e0 une baisse soudaine des fonds allou\u00e9s \u00e0 la lutte contre la pand\u00e9mie. \u00a0virus<\/a>\u00a0Ebola, \u00e0 un moment o\u00f9 la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo et l'Ouganda sont confront\u00e9s \u00e0 la propagation d'une souche rare et dangereuse du virus pour laquelle il n'existe toujours aucun vaccin ni traitement approuv\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Une forte baisse des financements internationaux<\/h2>\n

Les Centres africains de contr\u00f4le et de pr\u00e9vention des maladies ont annonc\u00e9 que les promesses de dons destin\u00e9s \u00e0 soutenir les efforts d'intervention d'urgence sont pass\u00e9es d'environ 500 millions de dollars \u00e0 290 millions de dollars en quelques jours seulement, ce qui signifie que plus de 210 millions de dollars allou\u00e9s \u00e0 la lutte contre l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie actuelle ont \u00e9t\u00e9 perdus.<\/p>\n

\"\u0628\u0639\u062f<\/p>\n

La directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale du centre, le Dr Jane Cassia, a averti que ce d\u00e9clin menace directement les efforts de confinement, notamment compte tenu du besoin croissant de renforcer la surveillance sanitaire, l'isolement rapide et les capacit\u00e9s de recherche des contacts.<\/p>\n

Une souche rare suscite des inqui\u00e9tudes.<\/h2>\n

L\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie actuelle est centr\u00e9e sur la souche rare \u201c Bundibugyo \u201d du virus Ebola, diff\u00e9rente de la souche \u201c Za\u00efre \u201d pour laquelle des vaccins et des traitements ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

Les experts de la sant\u00e9 soulignent que l'absence de m\u00e9thodes de pr\u00e9vention et de traitement approuv\u00e9es fait de la rapidit\u00e9 de la r\u00e9action sur le terrain le facteur d\u00e9cisif pour limiter la propagation de la maladie.<\/p>\n

Selon les derni\u00e8res donn\u00e9es sanitaires, le Congo a enregistr\u00e9 plus de 1 077 cas suspects et 246 d\u00e9c\u00e8s suspects, tandis que l'Ouganda a confirm\u00e9 plusieurs infections, ce qui a incit\u00e9 l'Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 \u00e0 relever son niveau d'alerte et \u00e0 suivre de pr\u00e8s l'\u00e9volution de la situation.<\/p>\n

Risques qui d\u00e9passent les limites de sant\u00e9<\/h1>\n

Les r\u00e9percussions de l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie ne se limitent pas \u00e0 l'aspect sanitaire, car les zones touch\u00e9es se situent dans une r\u00e9gion o\u00f9 le commerce transfrontalier et les migrations sont importants, ce qui accro\u00eet le risque de propagation de l'infection \u00e0 d'autres pays. Certains gouvernements ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 renforcer les proc\u00e9dures de contr\u00f4le sanitaire et \u00e0 imposer des restrictions temporaires aux voyages.<\/p>\n

menace \u00e9conomique croissante<\/h2>\n

Les \u00e9conomistes pr\u00e9viennent que la persistance de l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie d'Ebola pourrait perturber le commerce, le tourisme et les investissements dans la r\u00e9gion, imposant un fardeau suppl\u00e9mentaire aux \u00e9conomies africaines d\u00e9j\u00e0 confront\u00e9es \u00e0 des probl\u00e8mes d'endettement et \u00e0 un ralentissement de la croissance.<\/p>\n

Course contre la montre<\/h2>\n

Face \u00e0 des taux de mortalit\u00e9 historiquement \u00e9lev\u00e9s pour la souche Bundibugyo, allant de 30 \u00e0 50\u00a0%, les autorit\u00e9s sanitaires soulignent que les prochaines heures seront cruciales. Si des institutions comme la Banque mondiale et la Banque africaine de d\u00e9veloppement ont rapidement r\u00e9orient\u00e9 une partie de leurs ressources vers la riposte, un financement urgent est n\u00e9cessaire pour \u00e9viter que l\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie actuelle ne se transforme en une crise r\u00e9gionale g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9e, mena\u00e7ant la sant\u00e9 de millions de personnes et la stabilit\u00e9 des \u00e9conomies africaines.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
