Alors que les efforts pour prot\u00e9ger les enfants et promouvoir leurs droits s'intensifient, les chiffres officiels r\u00e9v\u00e8lent Kenya<\/strong> <\/a>C\u2019est une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 inqui\u00e9tante, car plus de 10 000 cas li\u00e9s \u00e0 la protection de l\u2019enfance ont \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9s en l\u2019espace de seulement 15 mois.<\/p>\n

Ces chiffres mettent en lumi\u00e8re des probl\u00e8mes complexes tels que l'abandon d'enfants, les enl\u00e8vements, la traite des \u00eatres humains et les disparitions, soulevant des inqui\u00e9tudes quant \u00e0 l'ampleur des risques auxquels sont confront\u00e9s les groupes les plus vuln\u00e9rables de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Si Nairobi figure en t\u00eate de liste des zones o\u00f9 le plus grand nombre d'incidents ont \u00e9t\u00e9 signal\u00e9s, l'attention se porte d\u00e9sormais sur l'efficacit\u00e9 des politiques gouvernementales et leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 contenir le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne et \u00e0 emp\u00eacher son aggravation \u00e0 l'avenir.<\/p>\n

Le D\u00e9partement k\u00e9nyan des services \u00e0 l'enfance a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 avoir enregistr\u00e9 plus de 10\u00a0000 cas li\u00e9s \u00e0 la protection de l'enfance dans tout le pays entre janvier 2025 et mars 2026, les cas d'abandon d'enfants figurant en t\u00eate de liste.<\/p>\n

Nairobi en t\u00eate du classement des signalements d'enfants disparus<\/h2>\n

La secr\u00e9taire principale aux services \u00e0 l'enfance, Karen Agengo, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que les donn\u00e9es du Syst\u00e8me de gestion de l'information sur la protection de l'enfance (CPIMS) ont permis d'identifier 10\u00a0581 cas dans diverses cat\u00e9gories li\u00e9es \u00e0 la protection de l'enfance.<\/p>\n

Elle a expliqu\u00e9 que ces cas comprenaient 6 820 cas d'abandon d'enfants, 1 952 cas d'enl\u00e8vement, 1 636 cas d'enfants disparus retrouv\u00e9s, ainsi que 173 cas de traite des \u00eatres humains.<\/p>\n

Ajingo a confirm\u00e9 que le minist\u00e8re avait mis en \u0153uvre des interventions cibl\u00e9es pour traiter divers cas, notamment la fourniture de soins familiaux alternatifs, des op\u00e9rations de sauvetage, le suivi et le regroupement des familles et le soutien \u00e0 la r\u00e9int\u00e9gration, en plus de prendre les mesures juridiques appropri\u00e9es en fonction de la nature de chaque cas.<\/p>\n

Selon les donn\u00e9es officielles, Nairobi a enregistr\u00e9 le plus grand nombre de cas signal\u00e9s, suivie des comt\u00e9s de Nakuru, Kakamega, Homa Bay et Kiambu.<\/p>\n

Le minist\u00e8re a soulign\u00e9 la coop\u00e9ration continue avec les forces de l'ordre, les gouvernements provinciaux, les partenaires au d\u00e9veloppement et les communaut\u00e9s locales, dans le but de renforcer le syst\u00e8me de protection de l'enfance dans tout le pays.<\/p>\n

Une vague de disparitions d'enfants met en lumi\u00e8re les probl\u00e8mes de protection au Kenya.<\/h3>\n

Ajingo a ajout\u00e9 que le gouvernement a adopt\u00e9 une approche multisectorielle de la protection de l'enfance, conform\u00e9ment aux articles 54 et 55 de la loi sur l'enfance de 2022, qui pr\u00e9voient la mise en place de comit\u00e9s consultatifs pour l'enfance aux niveaux du comt\u00e9 et du sous-district.<\/p>\n

Des milliers d'enfants sont pris au pi\u00e8ge entre la perte, l'abandon et l'exploitation.<\/h3>\n

Elle a expliqu\u00e9 que ces comit\u00e9s regroupent diff\u00e9rents acteurs du syst\u00e8me de protection de l'enfance, garantissant ainsi que les probl\u00e8mes des enfants soient trait\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re organis\u00e9e, rapide et globale.<\/p>\n

Elle a \u00e9galement not\u00e9 que le Kenya s'est r\u00e9cemment hiss\u00e9 en t\u00eate de la liste des pays d'Afrique de l'Est, australe, occidentale et centrale dans l'indice \u201c Sortir de l'ombre \u201d, qui mesure les efforts des gouvernements pour pr\u00e9venir et lutter contre les violences sexuelles envers les enfants et les adolescents, consid\u00e9rant que ce classement refl\u00e8te les investissements continus de l'\u00c9tat dans le renforcement des syst\u00e8mes de protection de l'enfance et le maintien de leur bien-\u00eatre.<\/p>\n
