Le roi du Maroc, Mohammed VI, a accord\u00e9 une gr\u00e2ce royale \u00e0 18 supporters s\u00e9n\u00e9galais condamn\u00e9s pour des \u00e9meutes li\u00e9es \u00e0 la finale de la Coupe d'Afrique des Nations, une mesure qualifi\u00e9e de humanitaire et diplomatique t\u00e9moignant de la solidit\u00e9 des relations entre le Maroc et le S\u00e9n\u00e9gal.<\/p>\n

Cette d\u00e9cision est intervenue \u00e0 l'approche de la f\u00eate de l'A\u00efd al-Adha, la Cour royale marocaine expliquant que la gr\u00e2ce avait \u00e9t\u00e9 accord\u00e9e \u201c pour des raisons humanitaires \u201d et compte tenu des \u201c relations fraternelles historiques \u201d qui unissent Rabat et Dakar.<\/p>\n

Les supporters s\u00e9n\u00e9galais ont \u00e9t\u00e9 condamn\u00e9s \u00e0 des peines de prison allant de trois mois \u00e0 un an, apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 accus\u00e9s d'implication dans des actes de violence et de vandalisme \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur du stade lors de la finale du championnat continental, qui s'est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e dans la capitale marocaine, Rabat, au d\u00e9but de cette ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Arr\u00eat de travail provoqu\u00e9 par un penalty<\/span><\/p>\n

La finale de la Coupe d'Afrique des Nations 2025 a \u00e9t\u00e9 le th\u00e9\u00e2tre de l'un des matchs les plus controvers\u00e9s de l'histoire de la comp\u00e9tition, apr\u00e8s des \u00e9meutes qui ont \u00e9clat\u00e9 suite \u00e0 l'octroi d'un penalty au Maroc gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la technologie VAR, ce qui a incit\u00e9 les joueurs s\u00e9n\u00e9galais \u00e0 quitter temporairement le terrain pour protester contre la d\u00e9cision arbitrale.<\/p>\n

Malgr\u00e9 le retour ult\u00e9rieur de l'\u00e9quipe s\u00e9n\u00e9galaise et la fin du match, couronn\u00e9 par une victoire 1-0, la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration africaine de football (CAF) est revenue plus tard sur sa d\u00e9cision d'attribuer officiellement le titre au Maroc apr\u00e8s avoir accept\u00e9 un appel d\u00e9pos\u00e9 par Rabat, consid\u00e9rant que le retrait du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal constituait une violation du r\u00e8glement du tournoi.<\/p>\n

Cette d\u00e9cision a suscit\u00e9 une vive col\u00e8re au S\u00e9n\u00e9gal, tandis que les autorit\u00e9s sportives s\u00e9n\u00e9galaises ont annonc\u00e9 qu'elles feraient appel aupr\u00e8s du Tribunal arbitral du sport (TAS) contre la d\u00e9cision de la CAF, arguant que le sacre du Maroc en tant que champion s'\u00e9tait produit dans des circonstances exceptionnelles qui avaient g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 beaucoup de controverses au sein des milieux sportifs africains et internationaux.<\/p>\n

De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, le pr\u00e9sident s\u00e9n\u00e9galais Bassirou Diom\u00eane Faye a salu\u00e9 la d\u00e9cision de gr\u00e2ce, soulignant que les supporters retourneraient bient\u00f4t dans leur pays pour retrouver leurs familles et exprimant sa reconnaissance au monarque marocain pour ce \u201c geste humanitaire \u201d.<\/p>\n

Les observateurs ont \u00e9galement consid\u00e9r\u00e9 que cette d\u00e9cision contribuait \u00e0 apaiser les tensions entre les deux pays apr\u00e8s des mois de tensions li\u00e9es aux \u00e9v\u00e9nements de la finale continentale, notamment au vu des relations politiques et \u00e9conomiques \u00e9troites qui unissent le Maroc et le S\u00e9n\u00e9gal sur le continent africain.<\/p>\n

Les analystes estiment que la gr\u00e2ce royale rev\u00eat non seulement une dimension sportive, mais refl\u00e8te \u00e9galement la volont\u00e9 du Maroc d'am\u00e9liorer son image diplomatique et humanitaire en Afrique, notamment compte tenu du r\u00f4le politique et \u00e9conomique croissant qu'il a jou\u00e9 dans l'ouest du continent ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n
