Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs: The Julius Nyerere Dam reflects the success of Egyptian-Tanzanian cooperation, and we look forward to expanding investments.

Ambassador Mohamed Abu Bakr, Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs, affirmed the strength of Egyptian-Tanzanian relations, stressing that Cairo, under the directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, continues to strengthen cooperation with Tanzania in various sectors during the current period.

During his participation in «Tanzania-Egypt Tourism, Trade and Investment Forum»Abu Bakr explained that bilateral relations between the two countries have witnessed remarkable development, reflected in the high-level reciprocal visits, pointing to President Sisi’s visit to Tanzania in 2017, in addition to the Tanzanian president’s visit to Egypt, which confirms the growing partnership between the two sides.

The Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs said that the Julius Nyerere Dam project represents a prominent model of fruitful cooperation between the two countries, adding: «This project was accomplished by Egyptian hands, and we look forward to it becoming a symbol of integration and the spirit of partnership between the Nile Basin countries.».

He noted the growing interest of Egyptian businessmen in investing in the Tanzanian market, in parallel with the growing presence of Egyptian companies there, stressing Egypt’s desire to expand the volume of joint investments and promote the implementation of more development projects between the two countries.

Tanzania-Egypt Tourism Forum

The Tanzania-Egypt Tourism, Trade and Investment Forum kicked off a short while ago at a Cairo hotel, with the participation of officials, businessmen, investors, and representatives from the tourism and trade sectors of both countries.

The forum comes under the slogan: “From the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean: Connecting Markets, Tourism, Trade and Investment,” in a step aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and expanding the prospects of partnership between Egypt and Tanzania in various developmental and investment fields.

The events included panel discussions and bilateral meetings that focused on mutual investment opportunities, developing trade relations, and promoting tourism between the two countries, in addition to reviewing the economic potential and opportunities available in the Egyptian and Tanzanian markets.

Forum: Building Sustainable Bridges of Cooperation

The participants emphasized the importance of the forum in building sustainable cooperation bridges that contribute to stimulating investment and trade, as well as strengthening economic ties between East African countries and the Mediterranean region, in order to achieve common interests and support economic development.

The forum is being organized as part of efforts to expand regional cooperation and open new horizons for economic and tourism partnerships between Egypt and Tanzania, thereby enhancing trade and investment integration between the two sides.
