The African Union, through its Commission Chairperson, Mahmoud Ali Youssef, extended its congratulations to Muslims in Africa and around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, stressing that the occasion represents an opportunity to promote the values of faith, sacrifice and solidarity among peoples.
In an official statement on the occasion of the holiday, Yusuf said he extends his warmest congratulations and best wishes to all Muslims in the African continent and around the world, expressing his hope that Eid al-Adha will bring goodness, peace and prosperity to all.
He added that this sacred occasion embodies deeply rooted values, foremost among them faith, sacrifice, compassion and solidarity, noting that these principles continue to inspire collective efforts aimed at achieving peace, unity and preserving human dignity throughout the African continent.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission stressed the importance of strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity among African peoples, expressing his hope that Eid al-Adha would contribute to spreading hope, harmony and prosperity among African countries.
Youssef concluded his message by congratulating Muslims on the arrival of Eid, saying: “Eid Mubarak.”.
