Hatem Yousry, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to KenyaAt the opening of the 20th edition of the “Affordable Art Show”, the largest art exhibition in East Africa, which is being held at the Kenyan National Museum in the capital, Nairobi, from May 22 to 24.

The current edition witnessed a distinguished Egyptian presence through the Egyptian visual artist Salma El-Sherif, who is participating in the exhibition for the third year in a row, making her the only Egyptian artist among 434 artists displaying their works in this edition.

Salma Al Sharif presented two paintings entitled “Where the Light Returns 1 & 2”, in which she drew inspiration from the symbolism of the lotus flower in ancient Egyptian civilization, through which she embodied the meanings of renewal, light and rebirth.
The Egyptian artist achieved remarkable success after both paintings were sold on the first day of the exhibition, indicating the popularity of her works among visitors and art collectors.
The 20th edition of the exhibition promises to be one of the largest since its inception, featuring 825 artworks by artists from around the world, reinforcing its position as one of the most prominent art events in East Africa.

The exhibition, hosted by the Kenyan National Museum, continues until May 24, bringing together artists and art enthusiasts on a platform that contributes to supporting creativity and promoting cultural exchange between different countries.
An opportunity for Kenyan companies to explore business opportunities in Egypt
In a separate context, Ambassador Hatem Yousri Hosni, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Kenya, met with the CEO of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. KenyanK.K. Mutai to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between Egypt and Kenya, and to develop links between the business communities in the two countries.
Ambassador Yosri stressed the importance of Kenya’s participation in the “Alamein African Business Forum” scheduled to be held in June 2026 in the new city of Alamein in Egypt.
The forum, the first of its kind, aims to bring together African governments, business leaders and investors to promote African economic integration and strengthen partnerships between African countries.
