President Sisi returns home after an important visit to Tanzania

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi returned home late Saturday evening after a visit to the United Republic of Tanzania.

The President held bilateral talks with the Tanzanian President, and also participated with her in the closing session of the Egyptian-Tanzanian Businessmen Forum.

This was stated by Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met yesterday in Dar es Salaam with President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.

President Sisi: We are ready to expand our investments in Tanzania and support its development projects.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the Tanzanian President received the President upon his arrival at the Presidential Palace in Dar es Salaam, where an official reception ceremony was held, which began with the playing of the national anthems of both Egypt and Tanzania, the firing of 21 cannon shots, and then a review of the guard of honor. This was followed by the President shaking hands with a number of military leaders, and signing the historical book of distinguished visitors at the Presidential Palace, before taking a commemorative photo of the two presidents on this occasion.

Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, added that the two presidents held a closed bilateral meeting, followed by an expanded meeting with the delegations of the two countries, during which the President expressed his deep appreciation for the warm reception, and congratulated President Samia Suluhu Hassan on her re-election for a second term, stressing Egypt’s aspiration to continue strengthening the distinguished bilateral relations with Tanzania in various fields.

For her part, the Tanzanian President welcomed the President’s visit, expressing her appreciation for the active role that Egypt plays at the African and international levels, and praising the existing cooperation between the two countries as a model of the desired integration between African countries. She also affirmed her country’s aspiration to strengthen cooperation with Egypt in various fields.
