The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that President Yoweri Museveni received President Sisi upon his arrival at the Presidential Palace, where a commemorative photo was taken of the two presidents, and the official delegations from both sides shook hands. Then an expanded meeting was held in the presence of the delegations of the two countries, followed by a closed bilateral meeting between the two presidents, and then the President signed the visitors\u2019 book at the Presidential Palace.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, indicated that the President began the meeting by congratulating President Museveni on his re-election for a new presidential term, stressing that this reflects the Ugandan people\u2019s confidence in his wise leadership.<\/p>\n

He also expressed Egypt\u2019s pride in the distinguished relations with Uganda and the growing momentum they are witnessing, pointing to the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fields of agriculture, irrigation and health care, as well as the participation of Ugandan personnel in Egyptian training programs.<\/p>\n

The President emphasized Egypt's keenness to develop trade exchange and establish sustainable investment partnerships, in a way that achieves common interests, stressing the need to intensify coordination at the African and international levels.<\/p>\n

In this context, the President renewed his invitation to President Museveni to participate in the African Union Coordination Summit, which Egypt will host in June 2026, as well as in the African Business Forum held on its sidelines, especially in light of Uganda currently holding the presidency of the East African Community.<\/p>\n

For his part, President Museveni welcomed the Egyptian President, expressing his deep appreciation for his leadership and for Egypt's active role on the African and international stages. He also commended the existing cooperation between the two countries as a model for the desired integration among African nations. President Museveni further outlined his country's efforts to achieve development in accordance with the National Development Plan 2040, highlighting areas in which Uganda seeks to strengthen cooperation with Egypt, and emphasizing the vast opportunities for enhancing bilateral relations.<\/p>\n

The two presidents also exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest, most notably the situations in Sudan, Libya, and the occupied Palestinian territories. The President stressed the need for neighboring countries to play a constructive role in restoring stability and achieving lasting peace. Both presidents emphasized the importance of intensifying coordination and cooperation on water issues and the Nile River. For his part, President Museveni presented his country's vision for achieving stability on the continent and ending conflicts, stressing the importance of national and African solutions that take into account the continent's specific characteristics and delicate balances.<\/p>\n
