President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will inaugurate the new headquarters of Senghor University in New Borg El Arab City today, in the presence of Emmanuel Macron<\/a> A number of African officials, in a move that reflects the depth of Egyptian-French cooperation and support for the Francophone partnership in the African continent.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy stated that the opening of the sanctuary University<\/a> The new development comes as part of the official visit of the French President to Egypt, which includes talks on strengthening bilateral relations and joint coordination on regional and international issues.<\/p>\n

A fully integrated university campus spanning 10 acres<\/span><\/h4>\n

The university\u2019s new headquarters is located in New Borg El Arab on an area of 10 acres donated to the university by the Egyptian government, and includes a comprehensive set of modern educational and service facilities.<\/p>\n

The campus includes two academic buildings, an administrative building, a conference hall, as well as accommodation and service facilities, in addition to four residential buildings for students, and accommodation for staff and visitors.<\/p>\n

The campus also contains state-of-the-art sports facilities including a gymnasium, swimming pool, multi-purpose stadium and squash courts, which contributes to providing an integrated educational environment for students coming from various African countries.<\/p>\n

Support for the Egyptian-Francophone partnership<\/span><\/h4>\n

The new campus represents an advanced model of cooperation between Egypt and French-speaking countries, as it was designed according to the latest academic standards to be a center for education, scientific research and development service in the African continent.<\/p>\n

The campus includes modern classrooms, a state-of-the-art library, and cultural and sports facilities, enabling the university to expand its capacity and increase student numbers, in support of the Sustainable Development Goals in Africa.<\/p>\n

The number of students currently enrolled at the new campus is 143, from the twentieth cohort for the 2025\u20132027 academic year, distributed across four main departments including Culture, Environment, Management, and Health.<\/p>\n

The study programs include eight disciplines related to sustainable development, including cultural heritage management, nature reserve management, governance, project management, international nutrition, and public health.<\/p>\n

A leading institution in developing African talent<\/span><\/h4>\n

This step comes within the framework of cooperation with the International Organization of the Francophonie, which Egypt joined in 1970 and which currently includes 88 countries, with African countries representing the largest proportion of its members.<\/p>\n

The organization works to support cultural and linguistic diversity, promote education and scientific research, as well as support peace and economic development.<\/p>\n

Senghor University is one of the leading Francophone educational institutions specializing in preparing African leaders, receiving around 200 students annually from more than 25 countries, and possessing a wide network that includes 17 branches and 50 partner universities.<\/p>\n
