The President of the Republic confirmed Zambia<\/a> Hakainde Hishilema said that the future of labor relations in the country should be based on dialogue, cooperation and mutual respect between workers, employers and the government, stressing that industrial harmony is not achieved through confrontation but through partnership and understanding.<\/p>\n

Hishilima pointed out that investing in digital skills is a strategic priority at the present stage, stressing that the goal is to enable workers to keep pace with technological development rather than technology harming their job opportunities, in light of the rapid transformations taking place in the global labor market.<\/p>\n

The Zambian president stressed the need for employers to commit to providing appropriate training for workers, ensuring occupational protection, and paying wages fairly and equitably, considering these elements to be the basis of stability and productivity within economic institutions.<\/p>\n

In contrast, he called on workers to adhere to professional discipline, integrity, and increased productivity, stressing that worker well-being is directly linked to national economic growth, and that the two are inseparable elements, as neither can be achieved without the other.<\/p>\n

The President of Zambia said that the next phase requires strengthening the concept of tripartite partnership between the government, employers and workers, with the aim of building a stronger, fairer and more sustainable economy, noting that cooperation is the only way to achieve inclusive development.<\/p>\n

Hichilema concluded his speech by emphasizing that \u201cwhen workers win, Zambia wins,\u201d indicating that improving workers\u2019 conditions will directly impact the national economy and the standard of living in the country.<\/p>\n
