Ambassador Mohamed El-Halawany, Egypt's ambassador to the Republic of Guinea, said that Cairo can be relied upon at this stage as Guinea prepares for development and modernization, especially in light of Relations<\/a> The historical ties that bind the two countries and peoples.<\/p>\n

This came during a visit by the Egyptian Ambassador to the Republic of Guinea to Fassine Sylla, Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works in Guinea, during which the Ambassador reviewed the experiences and capabilities that Egyptian companies operating in the construction, development, roads and infrastructure sector now possess.<\/p>\n

During the visit, Ambassador Mohamed El-Halawany stressed that Egypt can be relied upon at this stage as Guinea prepares for development and modernization, especially in light of the historical relations that unite the two countries and peoples. This was confirmed by the Guinean minister, who expressed his hope to visit Egypt soon.<\/p>\n

The relationship between Egypt and Guinea<\/span><\/h3>\n

The relationship is based on a strong historical legacy that began in the 1950s and 1960s, when Egypt supported national liberation movements in Guinea led by Ahmed Sekou Toure.<\/p>\n

The Jamal Abdel Nasser University in Conakry remains a living testament to this rapprochement, as it is the largest university in the country and bears the name of the late Egyptian president in recognition of his role in supporting Guinea\u2019s independence and training its scientific cadres.<\/p>\n

Relations have witnessed a major leap forward in recent years, especially after President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi\u2019s visit to Conakry in 2019, which was the first by an Egyptian president in decades.<\/p>\n

This rapprochement resulted in high-level diplomatic coordination on continental issues, and the signing of memoranda of understanding covering trade, agriculture, and security cooperation, reflecting the two countries' desire to transform political consensus into a tangible economic partnership.<\/p>\n

Egypt is a key partner for Guinea in the \u201chuman development\u201d file, as Cairo, through the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, provides intensive training programs for Guinean personnel in medicine, irrigation, and diplomacy.<\/p>\n

Egyptian companies also contribute to infrastructure projects in Conakry, in addition to the pivotal role of Al-Azhar and the Coptic Church in strengthening cultural and educational ties between the two peoples.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
