According to recent data, Spain's gas imports (natural and liquefied) reached approximately 37.63 terawatt-hours in March 2026, compared to 31.42 terawatt-hours in February.<\/p>\n
Algeria ranked second on the list of the largest gas exporters to Spain in March, behind the United States, which it exported 31.7% to for the third consecutive month.<\/p>\n
Algeria maintained its second position with 30.2%, totaling 11.37 terawatt-hours, including 10.26 terawatt-hours of natural gas and 1.11 terawatt-hours of liquefied gas, whose shipments were resumed after a three-month hiatus.<\/p>\n
Russia remained in third place, with 26.1%, totaling 9.8 terawatt-hours of liquefied gas.<\/p>\n
Nigeria maintained its fourth position, with 7.9%, totaling 2.97 terawatt-hours of liquefied gas, down from 3.84 terawatt-hours in February 2026.<\/p>\n

Mauritania advanced to fifth place, with a production capacity of 1.71 TP3T, totaling 0.649 terawatt-hours of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Mauritania exported its first shipments to Spain from the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim field, shared with Senegal, in February 2026, totaling 0.03 terawatt-hours of LNG.<\/p>\n
Congo ranked sixth, with 1.5%, totaling 0.521 terawatt-hours of liquefied gas, compared to 0.517 terawatt-hours in February 2026.<\/p>\n
France came in seventh place, with a rate of 0.5%, totaling 0.189 terawatt-hours of natural gas, without any shipments of liquefied gas, according to data from the Spanish gas network operator Enagas.<\/p>\n
Cameroon came in eighth place, with 0.2%, totaling 0.075 terawatt-hours of liquefied gas, after exports to Spain were halted for several months.<\/p>\n

Algeria is anticipating an increase in gas flows through the Medgaz pipeline to a level close to its maximum capacity, with the aim of significantly increasing supplies to Spain in the coming period, according to the Spanish website The Objective.<\/p>\n
