The Oluwele region of Oyo State in Nigeria has witnessed a significant political shift, as Ademola Oyebejo Ara has officially announced his intention to run for the House of Representatives seat for the Oluwele Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, representing the Accord Party.<\/p>\n

The declaration ceremony, which carried the slogan \u201cDeclaration of Victory,\u201d was held at the Muslim Grammar School in Ibadan, the state capital, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

In a press statement following the ceremony, Ara said that this gathering achieved two goals: his official joining of the Accord party, and his official announcement of his ambition to represent the Uluweli Federal constituency in the National Assembly.<\/p>\n

Officially joining the Accord Party<\/span><\/h3>\n

Today is my declaration day. This event aims to achieve two goals: first, to formally join the Accord Party and transfer all my members to it; and second, to announce my intention to represent the people of the Oluwele Federal Constituency in Abuja in the 2027 elections.<\/p>\n

As you can see, the program drew a massive crowd of supporters, grassroots activists, political leaders, and followers. More than 10,000 supporters left their political party affiliations to join the Accord program in the state.<\/p>\n

The candidate used this opportunity to express his concern about what he described as the growing threats to the democratic system in Nigeria, particularly the idea of a one-party system.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThis is not desirable. We practice democracy in Nigeria, and any suggestion of a one-party system, whether from the president or any other official, is not a good thing. It is a fatal blow to democracy.\u201d.<\/p>\n

In discussing his legislative program, Ara promised inclusive representation and people-centered policies to address key development challenges in his constituency.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cMy constituents should expect more than they imagine. I will focus on achieving tangible fruits of democracy in various vital sectors.\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cMy priority is to represent the people of my constituency in the best possible way, and to propose laws that will benefit not only Oluwol, but the whole of Nigeria. I will work to achieve development in the areas of education, skills acquisition, electricity, health care, and security.\u201d.<\/p>\n

Speaking about healthcare as a pressing issue, the candidate revealed plans to establish a specialized stroke hospital in his constituency, noting the increasing prevalence of stroke among residents aged 45 and over.<\/p>\n

He explained, \u201cOne of the main problems we face in Olweol is stroke among the elderly.\u201d He added, \u201cI intend to establish a specialized stroke hospital to ensure that patients receive the latest treatments.\u201d.<\/p>\n

Regarding education, Oyibigo Ara expressed regret that there was no state or federal educational institution in the region, pledging to facilitate the establishment of a university and a technical institute to expand higher education opportunities for the youth of the constituency.<\/p>\n
