The market was built at an estimated cost of 55 million Kenyan shillings, as part of the government\u2019s programs aimed at modernizing popular markets and providing an organized and safe working environment for traders.<\/p>\n

The market aims to reduce congestion and improve the flow of commercial traffic, in addition to providing suitable infrastructure for hygiene and security.<\/p>\n
The new market provides modern facilities including storage units and cold storage facilities, which is an important step to support traders, especially in the food and vegetable sector, by reducing waste and improving product quality. This also contributes to raising the market value of goods and boosting the daily income of traders.<\/p>\n

Local officials said the project fulfills a promise to improve the conditions of traders, who previously conducted their business in the open, exposed to the dangers of rain, scorching sun, mud and dust.<\/p>\n

Officials stressed that the new market reflects the concept of \u201cbuilding from the bottom up,\u201d where local infrastructure is invested in to support small business owners, who are considered a key driver of economic growth in Kenya.<\/p>\n
