<\/p>\nEgyptian relations with Equatorial Guinea have witnessed positive developments and fruitful cooperation over the past years, with broad prospects for Egyptian trade and investment opportunities in Equatorial Guinea.<\/p>\n
Egypt has enjoyed a strong historical relationship with Equatorial Guinea since its independence from Spain on October 12, 1968, and relations between the two countries have developed significantly in all political, economic, cultural, scientific, health and training fields since then.<\/p>\n
The strong Egyptian-Guinean relations are considered within the framework of the continent\u2019s return to its African continent, as Egypt is the beating heart of the African continent, and this reality has been imposed by history and confirmed by the shared future of cooperation between the countries of the continent.<\/p>\n
Given the momentum in Egyptian-Equatorial Guinean relations, the two countries maintain a high level of continuous coordination, communication, and meetings at the level of presidents, foreign ministers, and all officials.<\/p>\n

In July 2025, on the sidelines of his participation in the seventh session of the African Union Mid-Year Coordination Summit, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with Teodoro Obiang Nguema, President of Equatorial Guinea, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and exploring broader prospects for cooperation in various fields, especially economic, trade, investment, energy, infrastructure and industry sectors.<\/p>\n
In the latest developments in bilateral relations between the two countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mohamed Abu Bakr Saleh chaired a coordination meeting between Egypt and Equatorial Guinea last March, in preparation for the convening of the Joint Committee. This followed a meeting between Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty and Simeon Oyon Esono, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, in December 2025.<\/p>\n
According to official Egyptian reports, the volume of Egyptian investments in Equatorial Guinea is estimated at around $2 billion. These investments are made through joint programs aimed at boosting trade and investment relations between the business communities of both countries.<\/p>\n
Egypt is also always ready to transfer its expertise and help its brothers in Equatorial Guinea and various countries of the continent to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the near term, as well as long-term projects to achieve the greatest possible benefit for the people of Equatorial Guinea from the development and training programs that Egypt offers at the highest level, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n

On February 9th, discussions were held regarding cooperation between the two countries on the national housing project to build 100,000 housing units. Egypt affirmed its readiness to establish an urban planning authority and provide training for local personnel, in addition to offering support in the design and implementation of the project. It was agreed to begin construction on 200 housing units as a pilot project, recognizing the need for diverse housing models within the new administrative city project. Both sides emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise and future cooperation to promote development in Equatorial Guinea.<\/p>\n
Egypt is also working to supply Equatorial Guinea with doctors in cooperation with the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with Africa, affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as exporting Egyptian medicines to Equatorial Guinea.<\/p>\n
The Arab Contractors Company, which has a large presence in the African continent, is one of the most prominent active Egyptian companies that invest in Equatorial Guinea. The company employs 1,536 Guinean workers and 712 Egyptian workers, and has implemented many development projects, including roads, water and sanitation, bridges, and housing.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
