The President of the Republic of Gabon, General Brice Clouteir Olegui Nguema, received a delegation of Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research from the member states of the Council of Africa and Madagascar for Higher Education (CAMES), following the conclusion of the 43rd Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers of the institution, held in the capital, Libreville.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the ministerial delegation presented the results of the last session and requested the support of the Gabonese President in preparation for the upcoming summit of heads of state and government of the member states of CAMES, which aims to promote academic and scientific cooperation among African countries.<\/p>\n

The Gabonese President praised the quality of work accomplished during the session, commending the report presented by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Guinea, Dr. Diaka Sidibe, the outgoing Chair of the CAMES Council of Ministers, and noting her leadership role and commitment in managing the work of the institution during the past period.<\/p>\n

In a remarkable move, President Brice Cloutere Olegu\u00e9 Nguema was honored with the Grand Cross of the International Order of Academic Wreaths of CAMES OIPA CAMES, the highest award given by the organization, in recognition of his commitment to supporting academic excellence, promoting scientific research, and encouraging the path of African integration in the field of education.<\/p>\n

The official coronation ceremony is scheduled to take place in the capital, Libreville, on June 23, in the presence of a number of officials and representatives of the member states of the organization, in a celebration that reflects the important role that Gabon plays in supporting African scientific institutions.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the Gabonese President affirmed his country\u2019s unwavering commitment to the principles and objectives of CAMES, and its full readiness to contribute to enhancing the scientific and academic standing of the African continent, and to support initiatives aimed at developing higher education and scientific research.<\/p>\n

He also stressed the importance of expanding areas of cooperation between the member states of the organization, in order to facilitate the exchange of experiences, enhance the quality of higher education, and raise the level of scientific research in a way that serves the goals of sustainable development in Africa.<\/p>\n
