The official spokesman for the Presidency stated that the reception ceremony included the honor guard performing the salute, the playing of the national anthems of the two countries, and the taking of a commemorative photo of the two presidents.<\/p>\n

An expanded meeting was also held with the participation of the delegations of the two countries, followed by a bilateral meeting between President Sisi and the Eritrean President, and then a luncheon hosted by the President in honor of the Eritrean President and the accompanying delegation.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, indicated that the President welcomed the Eritrean President\u2019s visit to his second home, Egypt, noting the depth of the historical relations that unite the two countries.<\/p>\n

Continuing to work to strengthen relations between Egypt and Eritrea<\/span><\/h2>\n

He stressed the need to continue working to elevate these relations and advance them in various fields to achieve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples, particularly through developing trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Egypt and Eritrea. The President also affirmed Egypt's unwavering commitment to supporting Eritrea's sovereignty and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n

The official spokesman added that the Eritrean President, for his part, affirmed his pride in visiting Egypt and meeting the President, appreciating the development witnessed in the bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as Egypt\u2019s support for Eritrea\u2019s development aspirations, and stressing the Eritrean side\u2019s desire to intensify work with Egypt in order to strengthen the brotherly relations between the two countries and move them to broader horizons, in a way that achieves common interests and the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples towards prosperity and flourishing.<\/p>\n

The official spokesperson stated that the meeting also addressed regional and international developments, with the two presidents discussing the latest developments in the Horn of Africa region.<\/p>\n

In this context, the President affirmed Egypt\u2019s firm position seeking to maintain the security and stability of the Horn of Africa region, considering it an extension of Egyptian national security, noting the pivotal coordination between Egypt and Eritrea in order to maintain the stability of this region.<\/p>\n

The official spokesperson added that the two presidents also discussed the latest developments in brotherly Sudan, where President Sisi affirmed Egypt\u2019s firm position in support of Sudan\u2019s unity, sovereignty, security and stability. In this context, the need to end the current crisis and support brotherly Sudan to restore comprehensive stability was emphasized.<\/p>\n

The two presidents also discussed the existing cooperation between the two countries to ensure the security of the Red Sea and freedom of maritime navigation in it, with the president stressing the importance of intensifying coordination between the two countries, taking into account the exclusive responsibility of the Red Sea littoral states in governing it and maintaining security and stability in it.<\/p>\n
