Four African countries accounted for approximately 62.51 TP3T of Egypt's exports to the continent. Overall<\/a> During 2025, it will be approximately $7.6 billion, compared to $7.8 billion during the previous year, 2024.<\/p>\n

This came according to official data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in Egypt on Monday, on the occasion of Egypt and the African continent celebrating on May 25, 2026 the 63rd edition of \u201cAfrica Day\u201d, which is the day that coincides with the anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity, which later became known as the \u201cAfrican Union\u201d, a partnership that includes 55 member states with the aim of promoting social, cultural, political and economic cooperation in the continent.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s celebration comes under the slogan \u201dEnsuring the availability of sustainable water and safe sanitation systems to achieve Agenda 2063,\u201d while data issued by the Statistics Authority revealed that the value of trade exchange between Egypt and the countries of the African Union totaled $9.6 billion during 2025, compared to $9.9 billion for the previous year, 2024.<\/p>\n

Libya topped the list of African Union countries importing from Egypt during 2025, with Egyptian exports to it amounting to $1.5 billion, followed by Algeria at $1.2 billion, then Morocco at $1.1 billion, and Sudan at $957.1 million. The four aforementioned countries accounted for 62.51 TP3T of Egypt\u2019s exports to the countries of the continent, totaling $4.7 billion during 2025.<\/p>\n

Egypt exported goods worth $431.3 million to Tunisia, followed by Kenya at $330.6 million, then Nigeria at $213.1 million, followed by Ivory Coast at $179.5 million, South Africa at $162.9 million, and finally Somalia at $134.8 million, which are the top countries in terms of Egypt's exports to African Union countries.<\/p>\n

The most important goods that Egypt exported to African countries during 2025<\/h2>\n

Machinery and electrical appliances topped the list of goods that Egypt exported to African countries with a value of $633.6 million, followed by plastics and their products with a value of $544.4 million, iron and steel with a value of $528.3 million, various food preparations with a value of $517.8 million, vegetables and fruits with a value of $491.4 million, and salt, stones and cement with a value of $446.4 million.<\/p>\n

Egypt's imports from African countries amount to $2 billion.<\/h2>\n

Egyptian imports from African Union countries amounted to $2 billion in 2025, compared to $2.1 billion in 2024.<\/p>\n

The Democratic Republic of Congo topped the list of African Union countries exporting to Egypt during 2025, with Egypt's imports from it amounting to $447.4 million, followed by Sudan at $277.2 million, then Kenya at $264.1 million, then Senegal at $163.7 million, South Africa at $147.4 million, Guinea at $111.6 million, Morocco at $74.6 million, and Ivory Coast at $73.5 million, which are the top countries in terms of Egypt's imports from African Union countries.<\/p>\n

As for the most important commodity groups imported from African Union countries during 2025, they are topped by copper and its products with a value of $470.9 million, fuels and mineral oils with a value of $323.3 million, coffee, tea and spices with a value of $292.4 million, pearls, precious stones and jewelry with a value of $121.4 million, cars, tractors and bicycles with a value of $90 million, live animals with a value of $88.9 million, cereals, oilseeds and medicinal plants with a value of $85.5 million, tobacco with a value of $78 million.<\/p>\n

Regarding remittances between Egypt and African Union countries, the agency\u2019s data revealed that the value of remittances from Egyptians working in African Union countries amounted to $191 million during the fiscal year 2024\/2025, while the value of remittances from workers from African Union countries in Egypt amounted to $26.2 million during the same period.<\/p>\n

As for investments between Egypt and the African Union countries, the value of investments of the African Union countries in Egypt amounted to $343 million during the fiscal year 2024\/2025, while the value of Egyptian investments in the African Union countries amounted to $756 million during the same period.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
