Egypt reaffirms its supportive stance towards Sudan

Strengthening economic and investment cooperation
The two ministers stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields, in order to achieve the interests of the two brotherly peoples, while emphasizing the need to follow up on the implementation of the outcomes of the ninth session of the Joint Higher Committee, which was held last November.

Minister Badr Abdel-Aty praised the Algerian government's efforts in implementing internal development projects, under the directives of the President. Abdelmadjid TebbouneAnd with the economic reforms that Algeria has witnessed, most notably the issuance of the new investment law.
The Egyptian minister also expressed Cairo’s aspiration to enhance bilateral cooperation by expanding the participation of Egyptian companies in Algerian development projects, in addition to strengthening cultural and artistic exchange between the two countries, in light of the distinguished cultural and intellectual cadres and capabilities that Egypt and Algeria possess.
For his part, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf affirmed his country’s appreciation for the fraternal and historical relations with Egypt, praising Cairo’s efforts in supporting coordination and joint consultation on regional issues.
Coordination regarding the Iranian issue and regional developments
The meeting addressed regional developments, with the two ministers discussing efforts to de-escalate tensions and the course of negotiations between USA وIran.
Minister Badr Abdel-Aty stressed the importance of supporting diplomatic solutions and prioritizing dialogue to avoid widening the circle of tension and chaos in the region, emphasizing that de-escalation is the best option for maintaining the security and stability of the Middle East.
Egyptian-Algerian agreement on Libya
Regarding the Libyan crisis, the two ministers stressed the importance of intensifying coordination between the two countries on the Libyan issue, given Libya It is a country that directly borders Egypt and Algeria.
Both sides stressed the importance of continuing the meetings of the Libyan Neighboring Countries Mechanism, as it is a fundamental framework for consultation and support for a political solution based on pure Libyan ownership, in a way that ensures the preservation of Libya’s unity and sovereignty.
They also stressed the need to create the appropriate conditions for holding Libyan elections simultaneously, and rejected all foreign interference that hinders reaching a sustainable political settlement.
Emphasis on supporting the stability of Sudan
The meeting also touched on developments in the situation in SudanMinister Badr Abdel-Aati reiterated the importance of reaching a humanitarian truce that would pave the way for a comprehensive ceasefire and the launch of a purely Sudanese political process.
He also stressed Egypt’s firm position in support of respecting Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and preserving its national institutions, in a way that contributes to restoring stability and security in the country.
