The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, is holding a meeting. Next SundayA series of diplomatic meetings and discussions in El Alamein, addressing a number of regional issues and ways to enhance cooperation with a number of countries and international partners.

The Egyptian minister will begin his program of meetings with a meeting with Massad Boulos, the US special envoy to the Middle East, where talks are expected to address the latest developments in the region, issues of common interest, as well as discussing prospects for coordination between Cairo and Washington on regional issues.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister is holding a series of diplomatic meetings.

Abdel-Aati will also hold talks with Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohi El-Din Salem, as part of ongoing consultations between the two countries regarding developments in Sudan, bilateral relations, and efforts to support stability and peace in Sudan.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister’s agenda includes holding a tripartite meeting with Egypt, the United States and Somalia to discuss joint cooperation files and issues related to the Horn of Africa, and to enhance coordination between the three countries in the political, security and development fields.

Abdel-Aati is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the Somali Foreign Minister, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, as well as another meeting with the Eritrean Foreign Minister, Osman Saleh, where the meetings will address ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation on regional issues of common interest.

The city of El Alamein is also hosting a regional consultative meeting that includes Egypt, the United States, Sudan and Eritrea, as part of efforts to enhance dialogue and coordination on political and security developments in the region, especially those related to the security of the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa.

These meetings are part of Egyptian diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening consultations with regional and international parties and coordinating positions on issues in the region, in light of the ongoing political and security challenges that require more cooperation between the countries concerned.

The agenda of the talks reflects the importance of the issues related to Sudan and the Horn of Africa on the Egyptian foreign policy agenda, and Cairo’s keenness to continue its role in supporting dialogue and regional coordination.
