On Thursday evening, the 16th, Ambassador Reham Hussein Ammar, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Gabon, held the annual celebration of the Egyptian National Day, July 23rd. The ceremony was attended by the Ministers of National Defense, Justice, Industry, Digital Economy and Institutional Reform, and the Minister of Public Labor, in addition to the personal representative of the President of the Republic and the Director of the Office of the Vice President of the Republic, as well as the President of the Commission of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECEAC), the President of the National Medicines Authority, the Diplomatic Advisor to the Speaker of Parliament, a group of Gabonese officials and young cadres who participated in the courses of the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, in addition to the ambassadors and representatives of international organizations accredited in Libreville and members of the Egyptian community in Gabon.
Egypt celebrates its national day in Gabon and affirms its commitment to supporting development and peace in Africa.
In her speech during the ceremony, the ambassador pointed to the huge efforts that Egypt witnessed during the past year to implement major national projects, especially in light of the geopolitical, economic and regional challenges facing the world. She noted the continued implementation of ambitious economic reform programs that contribute to strengthening the national economy. During the speech, she also highlighted Egypt’s commitment to supporting international peace and security and consolidating political and diplomatic solutions to conflicts.
In the same context, the speech addressed the prominent cultural achievements of the past year, most notably the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum and the election of Dr. Khaled El-Enany as Director-General of UNESCO, reflecting Egypt’s civilizational and cultural standing and its growing role on the international stage.
She stressed that the African continent remains at the forefront of Egyptian foreign policy priorities, based on the belief in the importance of promoting regional integration, sustainable development and cooperation among African countries, and pointed to the remarkable development witnessed in Egyptian-Gabonese relations in various fields.
