Leave President of the Republic of ChadField Marshal Mohamed Idriss Deby Itno left the capital N'Djamena this afternoon, heading to Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, before continuing his journey to Mecca to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

The Chadian president is scheduled to perform the Hajj pilgrimage in the Holy Land, considered the fifth pillar of Islam, as part of the annual Hajj rituals that attract millions of Muslims from around the world.
Upon his departure from Hassan Djamous International Airport in N’Djamena, he was seen off by the Prime Minister, Ambassador Allah May Halina, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, a number of members of the government, the Minister of State, the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, members of the Civil Office of the Presidency of the Republic, the Director of the Private Office of the Head of State, the Deputy Director of the Private Office, along with the Secretary of Sessions of the Municipality of N’Djamena.

This visit comes as part of the Chadian president’s participation in this year’s Hajj season, where he is expected to perform the rituals in Mecca and the holy sites, before returning to the country after completing the pilgrimage.
In a separate context, the General Secretariat of the Government launched the digital platform for the Official Gazette of the Republic of Chad, during an official ceremony attended by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Ambassador Allah May Halina, along with a number of members of the government and international partners, including representatives of the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme.
The Minister and Secretary-General of the Government affirmed that launching the platform represents an important step towards modernizing public administration and preserving the legal memory of the state.
She explained that it provides access to legal and regulatory texts issued since independence in both Arabic and French, in addition to publishing public procurement documents to promote transparency and ease of access to information.
For his part, Prime Minister Ambassador Almay Halina praised the team’s efforts in completing the project, stressing that digitization has become a necessity for developing administration, improving public services, and enhancing citizens’ trust in state institutions.
For her part, the representative of the United Nations Development Programme affirmed that the platform represents an important advance in the field of digital governance, noting the Programme’s continued support for the Chadian government’s efforts to modernize administration and enhance transparency.
