The handover ceremony took place in the presence of a number of military and security leaders, where the Guinean Defense and Security Forces received an important shipment of modern and advanced military equipment, as part of the state’s plan to modernize the army and raise its combat efficiency.

This step comes within the framework of implementing the main objectives of the Military Programming Law for the period from 2021 to 2026, which focuses on modernizing military equipment, improving training programs, ensuring the defense of national territory, and enhancing the operational readiness of the armed forces.
Guinean authorities have confirmed that the military modernization process represents one of the state’s strategic priorities, especially in light of regional security challenges and the need to develop the army’s capabilities to confront various risks.
Advanced equipment to support combat readiness
The new batch included advanced military equipment and means, described as modern and technologically advanced, which contributes to raising the efficiency of military units and improving the speed of response and field deployment, in addition to supporting the army’s capabilities in carrying out defense and security tasks.

The delivery of this equipment reflects the continued momentum of the Guinean military establishment in recent years, within the framework of an official trend to build a more advanced and professional army, capable of protecting national sovereignty and maintaining internal stability, in addition to strengthening defense cooperation with international partners.

According to reports, military cooperation between Russia and Guinea is based on technical and security agreements aimed at modernizing the Guinean army and supplying it with Russian equipment, including tanks, aircraft and warships.
This cooperation is not limited to arms sales, but extends to intensive training programs for Guinean forces under the supervision of Russian experts, and the maintenance of defense infrastructure, which enhances Guinea’s security readiness. Strategically, Guinea stands out as a vital ally for Russia in West Africa.
