President Sisi receives Bin Zayed at the Presidential Palace: Egypt affirms its support for the security and stability of the UAE

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received today Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates, who is on a fraternal visit to Egypt.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that a commemorative photo was taken of the two presidents upon their arrival at the Presidential Palace, followed by an expanded session of talks with the delegations of both countries, then a bilateral meeting between the two leaders, followed by a luncheon hosted by the President in honor of Egypt’s distinguished guest and his accompanying delegation.

Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesperson, indicated that the visit comes within the framework of continuous and close consultation between the leaderships of the two brotherly countries, as the President began the meeting by welcoming his brother, the dear guest of Egypt, and the accompanying delegation, stressing the special nature of the Egyptian-Emirati relations and their firmly established strategic character over the years.

Egypt's position is firm in supporting the stability of the UAE.

The President also reiterated Egypt’s firm stance in supporting the stability and sovereignty of the sisterly United Arab Emirates, and backing all the steps taken by its leadership to preserve the safety of its territory and the security and resources of its people, stressing that the security of the Emirates and the Gulf states is an integral part of Egyptian national security, and Egypt’s commitment to supporting and assisting the Gulf states and all sisterly Arab states.

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed his deep appreciation for the warm hospitality and reception, emphasizing the exceptional nature of the popular and official ties between the two countries. He also affirmed his commitment to ongoing consultations with the President regarding various developments, whether related to bilateral relations or current regional affairs. Furthermore, he expressed his country's appreciation for the President's supportive stance towards the UAE and the Gulf states.

The official spokesperson added that the two presidents welcomed the recently reached agreement on ending the war with Iran and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. They also discussed a number of regional issues of common interest and agreed on the importance of continuing to coordinate Arab positions to safeguard the security and interests of Arab states in the coming period.

The President reviewed the Egyptian vision regarding dealing with the situation in the region, which is based on supporting comprehensive and sustainable peaceful solutions, with the aim of restoring regional security and stability and directing the efforts of countries towards development instead of wasting the capabilities of peoples in conflicts.
