Egypt shines on Africa Day in Harare
A prominent diplomatic presence and a showcase of Egyptian heritage and civilization

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Harare, Zimbabwe participated in the annual celebration of ”Africa Day”, which was held on June 8, 2026, under the slogan “Ensuring the availability of sustainable water and safe sanitation systems to achieve the goals of Agenda 2063”, with the high-level attendance of senior officials in Zimbabwe and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
The event was attended by the Honorable Minister of Defence, Ms. Opah Muchinguri, representing the First Lady of the Republic of Zimbabwe, along with the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Professor Amon Murwera, as well as a wide attendance of political and diplomatic figures.
Artistic performances and cultural activities

The event featured a diverse array of artistic performances and cultural activities that reflected the richness and diversity of African cultures and the authenticity of its people. The Egyptian pavilion stood out as one of the exhibition's most prominent, showcasing a distinguished collection of ceramics and handicrafts, replicas of Pharaonic artifacts, and offering traditional Egyptian cuisine, thus embodying the depth of Egyptian civilization and the diversity of its cultural heritage.
The Zimbabwean Foreign Minister made sure to inspect the Egyptian pavilion, praising its exhibits which reflect Egypt’s civilizational and cultural standing.
As part of the celebration of Africa Day 2026, the Egyptian Embassy continued its active participation in the various events that took place in Harare throughout June, including the charity marathon, sports competitions, and a number of community and cultural activities, in confirmation of Egypt’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and communication with African countries in various fields.
