Confirmed Kenya Its firm commitment to the values upon which the Commonwealth is based, foremost among them democracy, good governance, sustainable development, youth empowerment, and achieving inclusive prosperity.

Kenya reaffirms its commitment to Commonwealth values and strengthens its partnership with the organization.
This came during talks held by the Kenyan President with the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, which addressed ways to strengthen the historic partnership between Kenya and the Commonwealth, and to advance common priorities in light of increasing global challenges.
Both sides emphasized the importance of the Commonwealth as a platform for dialogue, cooperation, and collective action, particularly in light of the economic challenges, climate change, and rapid geopolitical shifts facing the world. They also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in trade, education, innovation, climate resilience, and youth development.
Kenya, as one of the most active countries within the Commonwealth, affirmed its continued commitment to leveraging its growing diplomatic presence to defend the interests of the African continent and to contribute effectively to international issues, thereby ensuring Africa's participation in shaping decisions that affect its economies, its people, and its future.

She also noted that strategic partnerships, foremost among them the Commonwealth, open up new horizons for investment, skills development, expanding market access, creating greater opportunities for young people, and enhancing Kenya’s position as a reliable international partner and a prominent voice for the African continent.
Kenya concluded by affirming its commitment to continue working with member states and the Commonwealth Secretariat to support peace, economic transformation, and sustainable development for the benefit of current and future generations.
Kenya and Zanzibar agree to expand cooperation in the blue economy and trade
In a separate context, Kenyan President William Ruto affirmed the depth of the historical relations between Kenya and Tanzania, stressing the two countries’ commitment to continuing to strengthen joint cooperation in various vital areas, in order to support development and improve the standard of living of citizens.
Ruto explained that relations between the two countries are based on solid foundations of good neighborliness, mutual respect, and strong social and economic ties that have remained an important factor in uniting the people of Kenya and Tanzania for many years.
The Kenyan president's remarks came after a meeting with Zanzibar's President Hussein Ali Mwinyi on the sidelines of the 11th edition of the "Our Ocean" conference held in the Kenyan city of Mombasa.
