Memorandum of Understanding between Egyptian and Somali pharmaceutical companies to enhance cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.

The Egyptian Drug Authority and the Somali Drug Regulatory Authority signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening joint cooperation in the fields of medicines, biological products and medical devices, in the presence of the Minister of Health of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ali Haji Adam.
The memorandum was signed by Dr. Tamer Al-Husseini, Vice President of the Egyptian Drug Authority, and Dr. Farah Shiroy, President of the Somali Drug Regulatory Authority, in a move that reflects the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries and their keenness to enhance technical and regulatory cooperation in the health sector.
The memorandum of understanding aims to develop mechanisms for organizational integration and exchange technical and regulatory expertise, which will contribute to improving the efficiency of pharmaceutical systems, ensuring the quality and safety of medical products, and enhancing institutional cooperation between the two sides in a way that serves the common health interests of the two brotherly peoples.
Cooperation between Egypt and Algeria in medical supplies
Recently, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, witnessed cabinet The Egyptian, a ceremony for the signing of 3 strategic memoranda of understanding reflecting the commitment of the Arab Republic of Egypt to enhance regional and international cooperation, support African integration, and develop drug and healthcare systems, in a way that contributes to achieving health security and sustainable development.
This came on the sidelines of his participation, on Monday, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, President of the Republic, in the opening of the fifth edition of the African Medical Exhibition and Conference, which is held under the patronage of President al-Sisi.
The first memorandum of understanding was signed between the Egyptian Drug Authority and the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, for cooperation in the field of medical preparations and supplies. It was signed on behalf of the Egyptian side by Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, and on behalf of the Algerian side by Dr. Sharif Dlih, Director General of the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products.
The second memorandum of understanding, concerning the Arab Republic of Egypt’s hosting of the operational headquarters of the African Unified Procurement Mechanism (APPM), was between the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Logistics and Medical Technology Management, and the African Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Dr. Hisham Steit, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, and Dr. John Kasiya, Director General of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
The third Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerned the participation of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the African Single Procurement Mechanism (APPM). This MoU was signed between the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Logistics and Medical Technology Management and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC). It was signed by Dr. Hisham Steit, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, and Dr. John Kasiya, Director-General of the Africa CDC.
