Celebrating Africa Day: The new capital welcomes African ambassadors accredited to Cairo
To see the achievement that has been made in the new capital

Engineer Khaled Abbas, Chairman and Managing Director of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company, received at the company's headquarters a high-level delegation of ambassadors from African countries and members of the African diplomatic corps accredited to the Arab Republic of Egypt, coinciding with the celebration of Africa DayIn coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, and with the participation of the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs.

The new capital welcomes ambassadors of African countries accredited to Cairo
The event was attended by more than 22 African ambassadors, along with about 40 members of African diplomatic missions in Cairo, on a visit aimed at learning about the integrated urban and developmental renaissance taking place in the new capital, and learning about what has been accomplished within the diplomatic quarter in terms of advanced infrastructure, facilities and services according to the latest international standards.

Celebrating Africa Day
At the beginning of the meeting, Engineer Khaled Abbas and Ambassador Karim Sherif, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs, welcomed the ambassadors and participating delegations, offering congratulations on the occasion of Africa Day, and emphasizing the pride of the Arab Republic of Egypt in its historical and deep-rooted relations with the countries of the African continent, and its continued keenness to strengthen the frameworks of cooperation and integration with African brothers in various fields, in order to achieve common interests and support sustainable development efforts on the continent.
The meeting included a comprehensive review of the executive status of the New Capital project, and the advanced completion rates achieved in the areas of infrastructure, facilities, and services, in addition to a detailed presentation of the Diplomatic Quarter and its advanced capabilities and integrated services that make it a modern model for diplomatic areas at the regional and international levels.

The program also included screenings of several documentaries that reviewed the stages of implementation of the new capital, and the rapid urban development it is witnessing, reflecting the Egyptian state’s vision for building smart and sustainable cities, in addition to highlighting the advanced capabilities and services provided by the Diplomatic Quarter to various embassies and diplomatic missions.

The visit included a field tour inside the Diplomatic Quarter, during which the delegation inspected a number of vital facilities and projects, including the presidential initiative buildings, the United Nations building, the hotel, the club, and the various residential areas, in addition to the international school inside the quarter, in order to learn about the level of facilities and integrated services that the Diplomatic Quarter provides to its residents and visitors.

At the conclusion of the visit, the ambassadors and members of the diplomatic delegations expressed their deep appreciation for the warm welcome and organization, praising the advanced level of planning and implementation they witnessed within the new capital, and the modern, civilized, and developmental vision reflected by the diplomatic quarter, which confirms the Egyptian state’s ability to implement major urban projects according to the highest international standards.
