“Benin First”... The President Launches a New Phase of Governance

Serving the citizen is paramount.

The President of the Republic held a meeting  Benin This morning, he held his first meeting with the ministerial advisors attached to the Presidency, in a meeting that carried clear messages regarding the priorities of government work during the next stage, stressing that the main goal of assuming responsibility is to serve Benin and its people without any other considerations.

First meeting outlines the features of the next phase

During the meeting, the President stressed that all officials are required to adhere to the values of integrity and transparency, and to work in a spirit of national responsibility, while ensuring consistency between words and actions in various government policies and programs.

Paying attention to the most vulnerable groups

The President stressed that the government is required to pay special attention to the most vulnerable and needy groups within society, noting that the success of public policies is not measured only by the projects and programs implemented, but by the extent of their positive impact on the lives of citizens, especially the most vulnerable groups.

He also called on officials to enhance communication with citizens and explain government procedures and decisions clearly and transparently, in order to strengthen trust between the state and the people and consolidate the principles of good governance.

The election campaigns have ended and national work has begun.

In a notable political message, the president stressed that the election campaign phase is now a thing of the past, and that the current time requires a complete focus on the national interest.

He said that the priority today is not political affiliations or electoral calculations, but rather Benin and its future, adding that the responsibility borne by leaders and officials is based on the trust that the people have given them.

He explained that power is not a personal privilege, but a mandate from the nation that must be used to serve the citizens and fulfill their aspirations for development, stability and prosperity.

Serving the nation transcends local affiliations.

The President stressed that officials working under the umbrella of the Presidency do not represent their regions or local communities, but rather represent the entire country and work to serve all the people of Benin without discrimination.

He concluded his speech by emphasizing the slogan for the next phase: “Benin First… Always,” calling on everyone to work as one team to achieve further progress and development, and stressing that cooperation and solidarity are the path to a more prosperous future for the country.

“Benin first, always forward together,” a message that summarized the Beninese leadership’s vision for the next phase, based on national unity and serving the citizen above all else.
