The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia expressed his warmest congratulations to the Republic of Djibouti, government and people, on the occasion of the forty-ninth anniversary of independence, which falls on June 27, 1977, during an official participation in the national celebrations held on this occasion.

The President of the Republic of Somalia affirmed in a statement his pride in this historic occasion, which represents an important milestone in the Djiboutian people’s struggle for independence and state-building.
He pointed to the deep fraternal relations that unite Somalia and Djibouti, explaining that they are well-established relations based on shared history, common culture, and mutual interests, in addition to the continuous cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

He also stressed that these relations are based on the principles of unity, cooperation and mutual respect, which enhances opportunities for joint coordination between the two countries on regional issues of common interest, and supports stability and development in the Horn of Africa region.

The President concluded his speech by emphasizing Somalia’s aspiration to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Djibouti in the next phase, in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples and enhances the historical bonds of brotherhood that unite them.
