Bilateral talks on regional developments

The official spokesman explained that the two leaders held a bilateral meeting followed by a working lunch in honor of President Sisi, where Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed welcomed the President’s visit to “his second home, the UAE,” praising the fraternal and historical relations that unite the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.

For his part, President Sisi expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality, stressing the depth of the historical and strategic ties that bind Cairo and Abu Dhabi.

During the talks, President Sisi affirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with the UAE in light of current regional developments, stressing Cairo’s support for the security and stability of the UAE and its complete rejection of Iranian attacks on its sovereignty.

The Egyptian president said that “what affects the UAE affects Egypt,” considering that these attacks represent a clear violation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region and the world.

President Sisi also stressed the importance of intensifying international and regional efforts to resolve the current crisis through dialogue and diplomatic means, in order to reduce tensions and maintain the stability of the region.

Egyptian-Emirati coordination on regional issues

For his part, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed his appreciation to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, stressing the UAE’s keenness to continue coordination and ongoing consultation with Egypt on various issues of common interest.

The official spokesperson added that the meeting also addressed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields, in addition to discussing mechanisms to intensify cooperation and consultation on regional crises in a way that preserves the unity of Arab countries, the integrity of their territories and the capabilities of their people.

The visit comes within the framework of ongoing coordination between Egypt and the UAE regarding the rapid developments in the region, in light of the current security and political challenges.

At the end of the visit, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed accompanied President Sisi to Abu Dhabi International Airport to bid him farewell, in a scene that reflected the depth of the brotherly relations between the two leaderships and countries.
