Egypt is leading regional cooperation in West Africa to combat human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
The course was organized by Egypt with Dutch support and 38 trainees participated.

Second Secretary Karim Ashraf, representing the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Dakar, participated in the closing ceremony of the regional training course organized by the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, with the support of the Dutch government.
Egypt is leading regional cooperation in West Africa to combat human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
The course aimed to enhance the capabilities of national personnel in West African countries in the areas of preventing human trafficking and combating migrant smuggling, as well as supporting regional cooperation and the exchange of experiences in confronting cross-border crimes.
The course was organized by Egypt with Dutch support and 38 trainees participated.
During the closing ceremony, Second Secretary Karim Ashraf, along with a representative of the Dutch Embassy in Dakar and a representative of the Ministry of Family and Social Solidarity in Senegal, handed out course completion certificates to the participants.

The course saw the participation of 38 trainees from the Ministries of Defense, Interior, Foreign Affairs, Justice, Family and Social Solidarity from a number of West African countries, and included training on best regional and international practices in confronting cross-border threats, and strengthening cooperation between the relevant national institutions.
The participants emphasized the importance of training programs in raising the efficiency of national cadres and enhancing regional coordination to address the growing security and humanitarian challenges in the region.
