The Niger State Police Command confirmed that three people were killed by suspected bandits in the village of Bissa, Borgo Local Government Area.
Command spokesman SP Wasio Abiodun told the News Agency of Nigeria that bandits attacked the village at approximately 9:00 a.m.

He stated that some houses were set on fire during the attack, adding that the army clashed with the bandits, but details of the confrontation remain unclear.

The report indicated that suspected bandits had broken into the village of Bissa in the local Burgo district.”
Reports indicate that 3 people were killed during the attack, and some houses were set on fire.
He said: “However, the army responded and engaged the terrorists, but further details remain unclear.”.

Pupils and students did not wait for closing time before fleeing, fearing that bandits had broken into their schools.
Parents who had also heard about the possibility of a terrorist invasion of Mena contacted their children's school principals to confirm the rumor and whether the schools had indeed closed that day.
But a statement issued by Abiodun at the time reassured parents that police were working around the clock to address the situation.
The statement said that police officers visited all the schools mentioned in these areas, and no such attack occurred at any school within the state.
