Ambassador Ali Abdi Awari, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, participated in the honoring and farewell ceremony held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States, in honor of all those Ahmed Aboul GheitThe Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and Hossam Zaki, the Assistant Secretary-General of the League, on the occasion of the end of their term of office.
The Somali ambassador presents Abu El-Gheit and Hossam Zaki with the Arab Shield of Loyalty and Appreciation
During the ceremony, the Somali ambassador presented Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Hossam Zaki with a shield of honor, in recognition of their sincere efforts and outstanding contributions to serving joint Arab action, and for their role in strengthening the Arab League’s progress and supporting cooperation and coordination among member states.
Ambassador Ali Abdi Awari also presented a commemorative shield to the late Ambassador Mohamed Kamal El-Din Salah, in recognition of his national sacrifices and distinguished diplomatic career, and in remembrance of his unwavering dedication and loyalty in serving his country and strengthening the fraternal relations between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The shield was received by his daughter, Mrs. Laila, wife of Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, in a gesture of loyalty and appreciation for the memory of the martyr and the sacrifices he made while performing his diplomatic duties.
The ceremony was held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States to mark the end of the Secretary-General's term.
The Somali ambassador stressed that this occasion reflects the great appreciation for the sincere efforts made by Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Hossam Zaki during their years of service in supporting joint Arab action and strengthening the role of the League of Arab States in dealing with Arab and regional issues, noting that honoring the figures who contributed to serving the Arab nation, and remembering the symbols who gave their lives in order to perform their national mission, embodies the values of loyalty and gratitude that unite the Arab countries.
The Somali ambassador concluded by wishing Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Hossam Zaki continued success in their future endeavors, expressing his deep appreciation for their sincere efforts throughout their tenure, which will remain a source of pride and appreciation for the member states of the League of Arab States.
