Renewed economic cooperation between Egypt and the African Development Bank
At the beginning of the meeting, the Governor welcomed the President of the African Development Bank Group, praising the pivotal role played by the African Development Bank in supporting development projects in the countries of the continent. The Governor also stressed the Egyptian state’s keenness to expand the areas of partnership with the bank during the coming period, and to continue coordination and joint cooperation in a way that serves the goals of sustainable development and enhances economic integration in the African continent.

The meeting addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the African Development Bank Group, and ways to support the existing partnership in the areas of economic development, in addition to developments in financing strategic development projects that the bank contributes to implementing within Egypt.
In line with the President’s directives to enhance cooperation with African institutions, the Governor discussed mechanisms to support financial stability and economic reform efforts in the African continent. Ways to increase investment flows and mechanisms for financing priority development projects were also discussed, in order to contribute to achieving sustainable growth and enhancing the resilience of African economies in the face of future challenges.
It is worth noting that the Arab Republic of Egypt enjoys distinguished relations with the African Development Bank Group, as it is the second largest contributor among the regional member countries, and the third largest contributor at the level of the bank as a whole. This is clearly demonstrated by the size of the development projects that the bank has contributed to implementing within Egypt, with total operations exceeding $8 billion since the start of cooperation.
