Egypt's ambassador to Brazzaville meets with the new Congolese foreign minister

Discussions focused on arrangements for political consultations and the joint ministerial committee.

They met Iman YaqoutThe Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Congo, met with the new Congolese Foreign Minister Constant Serge Bonda, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Brazzaville, in the presence of a number of Congolese Foreign Ministry officials and members of the Egyptian Embassy.

During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed the Egyptian Foreign Minister’s congratulations to his Congolese counterpart on the occasion of his taking office in the new government formation, while the Congolese minister expressed his appreciation for the relations between the two countries and conveyed his greetings to the Egyptian Foreign Minister, stressing his anticipation of meeting him soon.

The Congolese minister also indicated his country’s president’s desire to receive President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Brazzaville in the coming period.

Ambassador Iman Yaqout stressed Egypt’s keenness to strengthen its relations with African countries, including Congo, by supporting cooperation in developmental and strategic areas of common interest.

The meeting addressed preparations for holding the first meeting of senior officials of the two countries’ foreign ministries in Cairo within the framework of political consultations, in preparation for holding the second session of the joint ministerial committee between the two countries before the end of this year, as the Congolese side expressed its interest in implementing these requirements during the coming period.
