A platform for coordinating regional agricultural policies
The annual ministerial meeting, organized by the East African Community, is a key platform for coordinating regional agricultural policies, promoting food security, standardizing agricultural production inputs and standards, as well as discussing food and nutrition security challenges in the region's countries.
This year’s meeting focuses in particular on deepening regional integration and promoting cross-border agricultural trade, which will contribute to achieving sustainable economic development within the member states of the group.
Minister Clement Juma is scheduled to participate in high-level sessions with his counterparts, the Ministers of Agriculture in East African countries, to review policies related to intra-regional trade, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, in addition to discussing ways to remove non-tariff barriers that still impede the flow of agricultural products between the countries of the region.
