Received Ntsiki On Sunday, April 26, 2026, South African Ambassador to Egypt, Mashimbi, received a courtesy visit from Mohamed Reda El-Sayed to the Presidential Room at the Office of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, within the framework of the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries, and on the occasion of the celebration of South Africa's National Day. The visit took place in a friendly atmosphere that reflected the depth of the political and historical ties that bind Cairo and Pretoria, at a time when the two countries continue to strengthen joint cooperation at the bilateral and continental levels.
An official visit reflecting the strength of bilateral relations
Mohamed Reda El-Sayed visited the South African Embassy in Cairo to congratulate Ambassador Mashembe and members of the diplomatic mission on the thirty-second anniversary of Freedom Day, a national day that represents a significant milestone in South African history and symbolizes the democratic transition and the end of the apartheid regime.
During the meeting, the two sides briefly discussed the course of historical relations between Egypt and South Africa, as well as developments in bilateral cooperation on a number of issues of common interest.


The discussion also touched on the importance of continued coordination between the two countries on African issues, especially in light of current regional and international challenges.
Egyptian-South African relations are considered among the most important relations within the continent, given the political, economic and diplomatic weight that the two countries represent in Africa, as well as their influential role within continental and international institutions.
Message from President Sisi to Ramaphosa
On behalf of Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Mohamed Reda El-Sayed conveyed best wishes and fraternal greetings to Cyril Ramaphosa, in a message reflecting the strength of the personal and official relations between the leaderships of the two countries.
These exchanged messages confirm Cairo and Pretoria’s keenness to continue political consultation and exchange views on regional and international issues, in addition to supporting development and stability efforts within the African continent.
The visit also reflects the level of mutual appreciation between the two leaderships, and the interest in developing cooperation mechanisms in various fields, including the economy, trade, investment, education, energy, and diplomatic coordination.
This visit confirms the continued positive momentum in relations between the two countries, and the keenness of both sides to build on the cooperation achieved during the past years, in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples and supports stability and development in Africa.
